The Targa Lidl one can, but not discs that are copy protected. Once disc is copied to hard disc drive you can copy it back to another disc.

You can get quite a few DVDs onto the HDD.

(1) Borrow one from a mate, don't want to watch it there and then, so copy it, give it back and watch when convenient.

(2) Ditto the rental shop.

(3) Dump the kids favourites to HDD so they can watch them whenever they like without danger of damaging the DVD's

(4) Dump to HDD and flog the DVD on ebay.

Not that you ought to of course.

You can get quite a few DVDs onto the HDD.

The disk will fill up quickly, trust me.

An easier solution is to backup DVD's using DVDshrink or similar

I have eventually got a reply back from Targa about this unit. I asked if it was possible to purchase the unit from anywhere else other than Lidl or direct from them - the answer is basically no!

Tried to get this machine from Lidl a couple of months and waited in the cold for an hour then a member of staff came out on opening time and handed 3 vouchers to the first people in the line to get the machines as they only got 3 in the store.

was expecting the staff member to come out and tell everyone else there was no point in waiting in line but no-one came out and by the time they opened they had a lot of angry customers who waste their time
