  • Hi there any idea if white gold is worth anything. I have a diamond white gold engagment ring with lots of bad memories that could go, just wondered if it will be worth less if it is white gold, or even if they accept white gold?
Married the most amazing man 05/12/09 and it was the best day ever, I'm a Mrs, he he!!

  • I had a leaflet though the door for a jeweller that was visisting my local community centre to buy broken gold, i got £5 a gram, that was about the weight of a really fine bracelet. (but i bought it from a charity shop for 50p!!!)

Also Ramsdens buys it if you live near one of those, or look for a pawn (?sp) shop or small non high street jeweler.

    hope that helps someone!
It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Thankyou every one for the tips on this thread. I have searched the net and my local shops. Our local high street price is advertised as £2.56 gram for 9ct gold. The best price I've had is from webuyoldgold . All the net prices are above £6.00. Webuyoldgold appear to provide first class assistance with all jewelry as well, so I know direction I'm taking,

You should be Ok, as the only real difference between yellow, white and rose gold is the percentages of other metals in it which give it it's colour, so 9ct white gold has exactly the same amount of gold in it as 9ct yellow gold

  • Thanks for posting this company is really good, made over £200 on old bits n bobs I had, I'm fair chuffed!. Had my doubts about sending jewellery but shouldn't have worried, I received an email as soon as they had my jewellery. By the next day I'd been offered a quote by the lovely goldsmith called John, and my money was paid into my account. Pleasure doing business with them, only wish I owned more old jewellery!!! :j
    I love this place :j:T:j

Thanks OP for the original post and whoever updated it.

I've not only got the usual broken bits and bobs to sell, but also 90% of what my Mum left me when she died a few years ago I will never wear, it just sits in a cupboard. I've decided to sell it and buy something I'll love and will wear. I know she'd be very happy for me to do so.
  • I've just sold my scrap Gold through. www.cashforyourgold.co.uk excellent service had money by instant bank transfer the day after posting. Highly recommended site.
  • I recently cleared my jewellery box out and found two odd earrings, a pair with a broken wire, an old locket OH had found, all battered up and another small item, total weight approx 15grams on my kitchen scales. I found a website, company based in the Jewellery Quarter in B'Ham. Posted it by registered post on Monday and had a cheque for £96 back on Wednesday. Considering in the past I would probably have binned it, result!!
