I've read on another forum that this company generally questions the impurities etc and try to get away with paying out less. It was on hotukdeals if you do a search going back to January.

right, my second batch of gold, i am going to try HattonMetal this time... see if they are any better than Cashforyourgold.

as for Webuyoldgold.... their prices seem to be lower than the other two, so i', not trying that one yet.

i posted the gold (37g) at 3.00pm yesterday, got an email confirming everything at 11.37am this morning and the money has been in my account since 12.00pm today.

they paid out on all 37g no questions/queries.

so used Hattongardenmetals for batch 2 of my gold.

Got phone call, and they agred with my weight.

but they explained that as it was 22ct Unhallmarked Asian Gold, they would only give the price of 20ct as they couldn't test it accurately, and it may have impurities.

So its a toss-up whether getting the 20ct price on full weight is better with Hattongardenmetals, or whether getting less weight but 22ct price is better with cashforyourgold.

apart from that, they explained everything well.

batch 3 i might try webuyoldgold, though it seems they offer a lower price. but you don't have to pay for postage.

can anyone update on gold that has been valued by online companies? I think that some of ths posts on this thread are spam...

I have gold rings with stones in them - do the online gold companies pay extra for the stones (think they might be diamonds but not sure...)

Also, what is the best website to show trade price for gold on a daily basis?

    Thanks!

Used Hatton garden metals for the first time and really pleased with the service. Sent gold by special delivery on Friday, checked online banking and payment was made by Bacs at 7.06am this morning (Monday). Really impressed with the service. Just got to hunt around for some more gold now!!!!!:j

I emailed Hatton garden metals twice regarding an unwanted diamond ring, but they didn't reply to either of my messages :-(
It's nice to be important.....but it's more important to be nice :)

My 12 year old son was given some scrap bits and pieces and we thought may be worth about £20 even if they were all gold. Sent then to goldtradersdirect who sent out a prepaid special delivery envelope.
Suprised 5 days later we recieved a cheque for £85, one very happy boy.

I dont think they pay more though for items that have stones in, its just the scrap value of the gold they are interested in,
