Lisa i always accept po/cheque to save on the fees, just wait for the cheque to clear before sending. I have also been sent cash before (although i wouldn't recommend it) make it sure this is @ the buyer's risk and is not covered by royal mail so if it get lost then it's too bad!
ginga you were doing so well! What are you on about? You still have the same amount of stuff so you have either been sorting out your current ebay stock ready to list or you have been finding more things around the house to list!
If you've found more things get them listed asap and they'll soon be out of the way and turned in £££'s, if your sorting current 'stock/finds' then put it back in the bags (newly orgnaised put a sticky label on each bag to remind you what's in it and work your way through one bag at a time! You can do this!
Credit_crunch you are so bad, you've spent a week's selling profit on one visit to the shop - we require an extra 10 listings from you before the end of the weekend!!!
I however have been a good girl, on my week off listing i have actually listed 2 things! One a 50p bargain that didn't fit! AND a car - for a friend of a family which has already sold and he's only gone and given me £100 for the trouble wahhhhoooo!

mrscmr Hi lisa
i have accepted cash on collection but only smallish amounts. and i have accepted cheques twice from the same person. not a great fan of receiving big amounts of money. also i am learning that the seller is in control - not the buyer. i think it seems you have to clearly layout your terms of sale in the description. Today 5:50 PM Purpleroses i wouldn't accept cash by post but i have accepted cheques, i just say i'll send the item when the cheque clears.
Thanks everyone for your advice, really wasnt sure what to do so you have all helped me out of a spot..emailed them both back explaining that I would accept cheque and send item once it had cleared and that unfortunately I couldn't accept cash through the post. Still cant believe the stuff that people will buy and what they will pay for it! I have 14 people watching a topshop hairclip!!!:D:dance:shake that money maker
Overdraft £1850
Credit Cards: Natwest £2220, Barclaycard 1854.62, M&S £5267, Mint £2272 EEeek!0 -
I have mine all stored in those storage boxes and I have about 12 of those boxes full of stuff to list, plus some other junk in the garage!
I didn't realise I had that much until I counted. Better pull my socks up
I am sitting in the office (spare room) tonight as I had ebay items finishing and find myself much more organised and motivated when in here so I will try to spend at least one or two evenings a week sitting in here to make myself do it. Not tomorrow night though as I am having my hair done
Made about £50 tonight on sales I think and have 6 items paid for so far
If anyone is thinking that receiving cash in the post from buyers might be ok if they send it recorded, I would still advise against it as if it does still disappear you will probably get a neg from some idiot who blames you for letting them send you cash. You know those buyers are out there unfortunatelyNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
I've accepted all kinds of payment
Personally prefer anything that doesn't have to go through Paypal.
If people want to pay cash (and not collect) then I've always let them do a BACS transfer straight into my bank. I've also accepted cash through the post, cheques and postal orders.
Have to say that postal orders are my favourite.
And of course don't forget, do not accept Paypal on a collect or deliver only item. You have no proof that the buyer has the item and photographic evidence doesn't work with Paypal!
As for how much stuf I have....enough to fill a house!
Back to listing tomorrow.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

I thought last night that I was starting to run out of things to sell- - not very likely! It's no wonder i'm in debt with the amount of things in my cupboard that are unused! and clothes i've never worn!
Need to get listing again and get some money back! Will aim for 20 new listings over the weekend!
Its good to have sleepless keeping us all in check0 -
