That's a shame about auctive but I don't use it very often. Only when I want to add extra pictures, so I guess I wont be doing that any more.0

If it is a crossed PO, it has two lines down the centre, just like a cheque, whcih is in fact how they are treated (except that they don't bounce!). You have to take them to your bank and pay them in there.
Hi Floxxie Thanks for this, PO's seem like a good idea all in all! Might start offering them as a payment option.St0lli wrote:"? Hiya Shakie! I may have it wrong about the crossed thing. I've just taken this from the Post Office website. Postal Orders can be cashed at any Post Office® branch for 6 months after the date of purchase. An attempt to cash a Postal Order after this 6 month expiry date will be at the Post Office's discretion. Being the MSE'er that I am I always cash mine as soon as I can! I think I'm right in saying the postal order can be blank ie no name in the payee section or have your name on them in which case you would need to take proof of id.
Thanks for your words of encouragement about the tat quality goods I currently have listed on eBay. At least it's mixed in with some BNWT things so may look more appealing... ok, I know I'm grasping at straws here!
Hi St0lli, thanks for your advice too. Hmm can't see me hanging around for 6 months with my postal order!:D Things are so tight they are squeaking! I am in the middle of writing myself a bit of a 2 year plan (sorry dont mean to sound so anal!) but would like to do some travelling and then start a family :eek:in about 2 years time so really need to get my act together. I want to have paid off all my debt before hand.
Re: putting your things on ebay; I think you just have to do it. Otherwise you never know how you might get on. And this forum is all about encouragement and support so you are very welcome.

Yep, I'm gutted about the Auctiva business, I got that email today as well. I'll be moving to something else, but just wondered if anyone knows what'll happen to existing listings, photos etc that are already on GTC? I've emailed them but still no response, probably due to the amount of people asking similar questions!
So ignore my post a couple of pages back singing their praises - they're utter crap!!!0 -

I have read all the stuff and I keep changing my mind about what will actually happen.
I *think* that we cna still list until Monday morning and that for the whole month of June all our current listings will stay exacty as they are and can be relisted on ebay direct. However, I *think* that at the end of June if we haven't registered a card to pay for the services we use then our accounts will go dormant. If that happens all the photos we are using that are on Auctiva will disappear and our auctions will be blank apart from the words.
However, just as I decided that was what would happen I changed my mind a bit as the letter when you log in to Auctiva says that there will be a pay per item scheme for smaller users. It did occur to me to wonder whether paying for say one auction a month or something would technically keep the account open and therefore any hosted photos 'live' or whether they would only support the auctions that we paid for in the first place.
basically I am saying I don't really know, but I fear the worst.
It's the photos I am bothered about, I store them all on Auctiva so I won't even be able to just relist on ebay as I'll have none of the backing photos.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Me too, I've got about 250 or so live shop listings running and all of them are hosted by Auctiva - it would be major upheaval to try and move the existing listings to some other format. I found the following page a little while ago which may help slightly (or more likely, confuse us even more!): http://www.auctiva.com/edu/entry.aspx?id=Integrated-Image-Hosting appears to show the prices for all the images that they're hosting for you. I suppose one way of doing it (if I'm reading them right) is to go through and delete the thousands of old images that are in my Auctiva account so that only live ones are still there, and then as any item sells (or after long enough to know there are no returns) delete the images so that the MB will gradually reduce as will the monthly charges.
This is a real pain in the backside right now that I could really be doing without!0 -
I use Hotmail spaces to host my photos and have written some basic HTML to add those photos into my ebay listings for free. I am happy to share the information and try and teach anyone how to do it themselves if they want. All you need is a hotmail email account, you don't have to use it but they give you free space for hosting photos and they stay on there until you remove them and are completely free. You can use as many or a few as you want in your listingsNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
