Thanks for your advice everyone about the cash, cheques etc.:T
I decided to not accept the cash but say ok to the cheques and then funnily enough had someone contact me this afternoon about paying by postal order! I take it that you can just put these into your bank account?
Am going to do another stint of fishing stuff out to sell tomorrow night and then list it on Saturday like I did this week. I know lots of people will be listing tonight for 10 days so good luck and get those items on there!:j:dance:shake that money maker

After reading the advice on here I've decided to bite the bullet and listed 4 more items this evening that were BNWT and was brave and put a starting price of £3.99 for 10 days! :T
The items I listed on Sunday aren't doing too well tho... I guess you win some and you lose some eh? lolLight Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -

It keeps switching itself off and saying batteries are flat even when I've put brand new batteries in. They were fairly cheap ones so wonder if its worth trying duracell?
Definately go for better quality batteries for camera, some camera's wont even start with cheap batteries in, well thats been my experience anyhoo0 -

Brilliant username CT:rotfl:made me laugh
You're right about the batteries - I use Poundland batteries and some batches don't work in my camera, some do though. Next time I will buy a rechargable battery cameraNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
Hiya, just to let you know you can take them to the post office and just get them cashed as long as they aren't crossed. I usually take mine to the post office at the same time as posting the item thats been paid for. Saves two trips - how :money: is that?! lol

Hi ya thanks for that. What does it mean if they are "crossed"? Ace idea to just have 1 trip to the PO! I just go during my lunch hour usually, I work with a really nice older man called Bob who is very helpful carrying all my parcels to the PO and queing with me!:A I am going to wrap all the stuff that has sold so far on Saturday so its all ready to go on Monday and will still have time to wrap any last minute purchases.
Well done for putting you items on! :TDon't you feel better now? And don't worry about your stuff that hasnt done well as yet, its still early days. A couple of my items have no bids but when you have lots of things listed you feel better about it.:dance:shake that money maker

Hiya Shakie! I may have it wrong about the crossed thing. I've just taken this from the Post Office website. Postal Orders can be cashed at any Post Office® branch for 6 months after the date of purchase. An attempt to cash a Postal Order after this 6 month expiry date will be at the Post Office's discretion. Being the MSE'er that I am I always cash mine as soon as I can! I think I'm right in saying the postal order can be blank ie no name in the payee section or have your name on them in which case you would need to take proof of id.
Thanks for your words of encouragement about the [STRIKE]tat[/STRIKE] quality goods I currently have listed on eBay. At least it's mixed in with some BNWT things so may look more appealing... ok, I know I'm grasping at straws here!Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -

If it is a crossed PO, it has two lines down the centre, just like a cheque, whcih is in fact how they are treated (except that they don't bounce!). You have to take them to your bank and pay them in there.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

Ah so I was right in my original thought.....
Shakie, just ask for uncrossed postal order and then you can cash it immediately in the post office. Saves you having to queue at the bank to pay the PO in, wait for it to clear, and then make another journey back to the Post Office to send the items.Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0
