Am a bit dumb about these things but can someone tell me what turolister/ auctiva do? i want to be able to do all my listings over the week and put them all on at the right times. i find i can only do about 5 items a night and would like to try and put a lot on each day. sorry for being stupid.
Hey bbb,
Turbolister (eBay owned) and Auctiva allow you to get your listings ready and decide when you want to put them on at a press of a button. The advantages of Auctiva over Turbolister are that you can have up to 12 (I think) photos of your item and they don't cost a penny extra and you can also schedule when you want your listings to start (and that's free as well). The downside is that Auctiva is an on-line system, whereas Turbolister you download to your PC and Auctiva can act a bit odd when your listings are live e.g. not showing piccies.
I am also going to go for listing on Thursdays for 10 days. I just get lots of listings ready and then press the button to put them on. It just keeps me sane doing it this way as I felt like I was always answering questions, checking postage, packing and going to the PO when I listed everyday.
Have managed to get the camera to work and it does have an internal memory but it only holds 4 pictures  I can't see anywhere to actually put a memory card in so will have to unscrew to have a look.
Anyway must get back to preparing this essay. Will be back with you 100% Thursday.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

@mrscmr and @floxxie Thanks for your warm welcome and helpful advice.
Just question wondered if you could help me with...have any of your guys ever posted to Poland? I read on a couple of forums that people have had probs sending stuff to Spain and Italy.
Had a question from a potential buyer yesterday about sending some perfume to Germany but today a buyer from Poland would like to buy my hairclip!
Thanks guys hope you've all enjoyed your BH  x
I've sent stuff all over the world, several times to Poland and other Eastern European countries, and I've never had any problem with them. It's worth checking your buyers feedback score first, if they've bought a lot of stuff in the past then chances are that they'll be fine. I always groan when I see Italy on an address - about 50% of stuff sent there disappears. Spain is pretty bad too, and Brazil. I've been told by my local PO that the Italian post people just shred anything they can't be bothered delivering!
Wherever you send, if it's £38 or less in value you get a full refund from Royal Mail if it goes missing anyway - just keep the receipt! I bought a little expanding wallet out of Wilkos for 94p which is just the right size for PO receipts, so they're easy to find when needed.0 -
Another good result from me on Sunday night when my listings ended but really didn't feel in the mood for doing any more after spending ages tidying the garden and then hours clearing the garage. But then last night I realised this is almost like a second income and if it was a second job I would HAVE to make the effort to go into work so I pulled my finger out and got another 10 items listed!
Made a bit of a boo boo on one item I sold. It was a camcorder and I only quoted for first class recorded which only covers up to £39(?) so I'll have to pay for the additional postage as I want it to be fully covered. I know it's only a couple of quid but even so
Glad to see everyone else is so motivated and having success! :TLight Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
5 items to post this morning. Getting less and less and they're sellng for less now lol, but it's clearing the clutter slowly and halping my cause.
I am finding more buyers are just assuming I'll post abroad without asking which annoys me. Also people are taking longer to pay for whatever reason, probably just because they can.0 -

If you don't want overseas bidders then block them:
Start from here to set buyer requirements to exclude overseas bidders or bidders with NPB strikes etc.

Also as we seem to be getting more and more overseas buyers interested in ebay uk I think it worth reposting my usual 'nag' post:
I really am concerned about sellers who are maybe newish to ebay who allow overseas bidders on high end items, until you are fully aware of all the scams and pitfalls it might be best to set your preferences to UK bidders only. It is also a must for mobile phones which are not even insured if over £39 and sent outside the UK.
Also remember that even using international signed for does not increase the cover on goods, it still only covers up to £39 of loss, for more expensive items additional cover must be purchased, so remember to factor that all in to your prices.
Many regular users here are long term sellers and even have their own dedicated websites and understand all the pitfalls and requirements for overseas sales, until they get that experienced I suggest that newer people think carefully about high end items overseas.

Thanks pandapaws, thats really helpful:A
I just emailed the buyer back this morning. £39 insurance should cover it, its only for a hairclip LOL! I am so chuffed at what people will buy. Its unbelievable really but in no way am I complaining. Managed to get hubby to clear out his wardrobe yesterday and have got some M&S autograph bits with the tags still on to put on today. (a dodgy present from my mother I think!)

I've posted all over the world; in fact 99% of my buyers are not UK based. I've only ever had one item 'lost' and that was buyer in Poland who had bought the same item the day after for a cheaper price.
The only problems I have are certain Americans and Canadians who think that UK postage includes them!
If you exclude foreign buyers from your lower value items then you will miss out on a large part of the market, from people who will actually want your tat because they can't get it in their country. With the weak pound your items look even more of a bargain!Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
I am losing all faith in Ebay at the moment as a seller. I don't seem to be making hardly anywhere as much as I was about a year ago - damn credit crunch!
It works in my favour when buying stuff as I do seem to be getting certain things cheaper but as a seller it is becoming increasingly less and less worth my while trying to get rid of stuff on thereOne day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
I've not listed anything for a few days. We've finally got the keys to our first home, so Ebay has been put on the backburner. I'm hoping to start listing again this Thursday. I've got all my own old stuff to finish listing from before the move and the people we've bought off have left a lot of totally random items dotted around the place. They've left about 200 shipping magazines dating back from the early 1980s which i'm planning on listing. I've checked the completed listing and some are selling quite well. :T
As for selling abroad, I've sold a lot of items all around the world and i've never had a problem. Italy is a pain because everything always takes an age to arrive. I once had a lady return an item from Italy, the item was fully tracked so I could follow its journey. It took approx 10 days just to leave Italy!!!Operation House Move £11993.60/£25000 (47% achieved)
