    Hi Saban,

If you were charged the price on the pack then you are due an R+R. Multiply the weight of the item by the price per kilo on the pack. If it matches what you were charged then hey presto. Be careful, me and a mate got some lovely beef from Yeading store yesterday and the store manager accused us of being professional scammers.

Nipping to Leyland tonight for a "big shop", so will keep my eyes peeled. They did used to be OK, but they're getting less and less friendly as time goes by.

  • haha, I'll probably see you there then sarahg, I'm off tonight for weekly shopping so may bump into you at CS! :D

Tesco Healthy Living Skinless Breast Fillets.
Some packs were marked £3.40 per lb
Some were marked £2.70 per lb.

SEL says price of £2.70 per lb.

So I bought some of the packs priced at £3.40. Went to CS.

"Sorry sir, we wont refund you because the ones at the lower price are clearly marked that. The higher ones are clearly marked at the higher price".

I argue my case that they have still overcharged me none the less because thge SEL price is showing £2.70 per lb, but CS and the manager wouldnt have any of it.

Am I in the right or is Tesco?.

The law is clear - where more than 1 price is shown the lower price must be charged. Speak to Head Office and if you get no joy, contact trading standards
  • Just had a run in at Ipwich Road, Norwich.

Tonnes and tonnes of mis-prices in the meat isle. I picked up Beef joints, chicken fillets, Leg of Lamb and Pork loins.

Finally they agreed to the refund of all but the beef. When I went back to the shelves a second time they had a small army of staff dealing with the problems and the Beef SEL had been removed and they didn't know where it was. In fact they were claiming that someone had been tampering with the SELs and were checking the CCTV.

I didn't want to labour the point too much as I was on a deadline to get home, but I am rather livid. They said that they'd call me tomorrow and I left my number and got a refund on the beef.

HOWEVER, what they don't know is that I took a picture of the SEL before they removed it and I'll be striaght on to Head Office tomorrow and trading standards after if I am not satisfied.

This chap even admitted to me that he *knew* that the legs of Lamb had the wrong label. That will be a particularly interesting conversation with HO or TS.

This is the first time I've had this. Initially they tried to get me to accept a refund and re-buy the stuff at a lower price. Coblers to that. I might be taking advantage of a policy, but I won't be taken advantage of.

You have got to remember the Tesco slogan "Every little helps...."

What you don't seem to realise is that they are referring to the overcharging and their profits :shhh: :D

    Hi All

    Advise needed please.

I bought 2 X-Box games tonite which are in the top 15 chart. A poster said X-Box games under £30 Top 15 and then the list of the 15. I was charged £32.97 each for them.

CS and manager refused R @ R as he says the poster meant some were under £30 and the SEL for the 2 I bought was what i paid. He gave me the 0800 number to phone tomorrow.

Is he right or am i?

    Many thanks for your help

Mmm. I spotted those in Leyland too. But didn't dare try my luck.

I'd say that the poster is clear. It says the games are under £30. Not that some of them are. CS usually do try and bluff their way out of these misprices, but it looks like they're standing their ground on this one (I think someone else mentioned it too).

Anyone else had any joy with these?

BTW, butter chickens - SEL £2.99, tickets on some £3.99, but scanned at £2.99. Hey - it looks as though they've finally got their act together!
