i was just looking at that myself and i don't think you can, which i knew that earlier, it's so annoying when you know your right but they just don't listen!0

Chorley have always been more than reasonable with me, apart from one time when they told me the barcodes on a product and SEL were different (but explained I couldn't read barcodes).
But now, there is one manager who is a bit of a pain, tbh - offered to calculate the difference on some meat a few weeks ago. When I pointed out the r&r policy to him, he was not impressed, and claimed he knew nothing of it. Stuck to my guns and got my r&r, but he was not a happy bunny.
There is a lovely young girl there on weekdays, who is very helpful, though.
What they were telling you, btw, was a pack of lies - they weren't just mistaken. They were trying to deceive you, and I think you should take it up with HO. I may try Chorley myself tomorrow, just for the devilment.

they've been fine with me before and i've had plenty of r&r's. it was just the girl on the clothing department. i would be great if somebody else tried to prove the point they might listen then.0

I think Chorley may be coming under fire here but let me tell you about my experience there today.
I arrived to find all the Christmas items reduced to a penny, now my OH is fuming as our loft is already overflowing ( anyone any ideas for alternative uses for a 100 baubles! )
Whilst in store I saw a Nokia bluetooth headset, priced at £49 upstairs in the electrical department.
As I was coming down the escalator, I noticed a Customer Services lady sprinting up towards the electrical department, this aroused my suspicions, but she didn't acknowledge me so I continued to purchase the items and was overcharged by £10 on the headset.
I returned to the electrical department to find the SEL had mysteriously vanished in the 5 minutes or so since I was there.
A senior store manager denied there had been a SEL at all. I pointed to the CCTV camera that looks directly at the stand and said that it would be pretty easy to rewind it 10minutes and review what had really happened.
He said this was impossible and that not even he was allowed to see the footage. After several minutes he offered me a refund ( not r&r ) which I declined. He then asked me to leave the store.
I rang Head Office, who got in touch with the store. Two hours later the duty manager called me back to say there had been a SEL when I made the purchase but it had been removed coincidentally in the 5 minutes I was at the checkout.
He also said the CCTV wasn't working properly ( surprise surprise ) and so it wasn't possible to see who had removed the SEL or when.
He apologised and handed me the r&r in full, which I accepted.
I have dealt with CS at Chorley before and they are aware that I know about the r&r policy, but it seems to me that Tesco now class me and others on this board in the same way that they view shoplifters, i.e. following us around the store, CCTV surveillance, pinning photos of "persistent offenders" in security offices etc.
If they spent as much time removing incorrect labels as they do looking out for us they wouldn't have this problem.
MSE'rs have experienced SEL being removed by Customer Services people and r&r refused, I was fortunate, it happened to me and they admitted it.
I like Tesco, I like the products and the convenience, I've shopped with them for years. I have bought items based 100% on what the shelf edge label says, never ( foolishly, I admit ) checking my receipt until I came across this forum. I wonder just how much I have overpaid over the years, or, to appease the Tesco-ites, how many times I have bought items under false pretenses, being mislead by the label, when I may not have done if the price was displayed accurately.0 -
I GOT ANOTHER R AND R TONIGHT ON DEPECHE MODE CD, A LOT OF THE CHART PRICES WERE DIFFERENT TO THE SHELF EDGES BUT THE PRICES WERE RIGHT AT THE TILL, ALTHOUGH DEPECHE MODE WAS NOT. I TOLD THE GUY ON THE CHECK OUT HE WAS GOING TO FAST FOR ME TO CHECK WHAT I WAS BUYING AND ASKED HIM TO REMOVE THE 6 CDS I HAD PUT THROUGH. WHEN DEPECHE MODE WENT THROUGH AT THE WRONG PRICE HE TOLD ME TO BUY IT AND TAKE IT TO CS FOR A REFUND AND THE PRODUCT FREE. I ACTED AS IF I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS!!!
also at the weekend i bought 2 x 5.97 videos that should have been £10 for the pair (i did not realise until tonight when i was back in store about this error!) anyway on my way out i complained about the overcharge but was told that i could not have the r and r without the products being there on my bill and CS checking it out. i was not happy as i said the next time i went in the offending information would be removed. i asked for the name of the guy who told her this (STEVE) and he also told the lady on CS that there would be no promotion changes in the next week or so. Is this information right that i have to have the products with me in order to get a R&R.
I also noted that the mackeral in this store was overcharged by 1p. my OH told me to buy lots but i still declined with it being a 1p overcharge!Just about to give up!0 -
I was in Chorley yesterday & betwen me picking up a USB drive and checking the price the out of date SEL was removed - 5 minutes max. SEL was £29 odd price scanned at £34 odd.
There is a sales desk upstairs and i`ll take amy further electrical misprices to that & pay there and then and also raise the problem with the cashier & not CS in future.0 -

Naturally, this can happen, especially if there are two MSE forum readers in the store.

Tesco in Slough told me I was forbidden from taking photo's in their store.0

I've notice that often when a mis-price is discovered, Tesco simply remove the SEL, leaving the items on the shelf.
Fine if the goods have an individual price on them. But for CDs, electrical goods, alcohol etc. the only indication of the price is often the SEL. My local Tesco (Addlestone) are hot on misprices, but as a result have a large quantity of goods with no SELs or other price indications!
Anyone got any thoughts on the legality of this under "Price Marking Order 2004" where goods have to be:
(a) unambiguous and easily identifiable by a prospective purchaser as
referring to the goods in question; and
(b) clearly legible by a prospective purchaser
Effectively Tesco are dammed if they keep the SEL (Consumer Protection Act), and dammed if they remove the SEL (Price Marking Order). The only IMHO legal action is to remove the items from display or put up a corrected SEL immediately!
Might be a useful argument when purchasing something where the SEL has an expiry date, and is the only price indication. If CS kick up a stink I'm sure asking them if they realise they are in breach of the "Price Marking Order 2004" may be enough to nudge them in to making the right R&R decision.

Tesco is classed as private property which you are entering under license (of the owner).
Unless expressly forbidden and clearly communicated, AFAIK you are allowed to take photos on private property that is publically accessible (although you are not allowed to publish them). However it looks like it has now been expressly forbidden for you!
Oh well, you'll just have to escort the CS to the SEL each time (and hope it isn't corrected between selection and purchase).
