traceya89 wrote:I Have Just Been To Durham Tesco Armed With My List Of Misprices And All Of Them In The Shop Were Right. The Shop Was Quite Quiet As It Was 8.00 On A Saturday Night. There Were No Posters Around The Cds Or Dvd Section And Would Be Grateful If Anyone Could Advise Me Where They Usually Are. Are They Specifically Advertising The Dvd With A Picture Of The Dvd Or Just A Chart List??? I Did Note On Some Of The Offers That They Expire On Certain Dates, Eg 2.2.06. Is The Expiry Date The Best Date To Go In The Stores To Find Out The Misprices??? I Was Very Disappointed Not To Find Anything. Tomorrow I Am Going To Tour Boots In The Area After A Very Rewarding Afternoon!!
The chart posters are almost always at the top of the shelf counter containing the CDs, DVDs etc. Commonly in the centre too. It's in a purpose made perspex frame, so should be relatively obvious if it's been removed.
The expiry dates should have little effect on an R&R as, briefly, the customer is not expected to have to read all of the small print on an offer such as this. Now, if the expiry date is in the same text size as the offer, it would be difficult for you to argue, but I have never seen this. Broadly, if an out of date SEL is there showing a lower price, the law would expect the lower price to be charged (with the above exceptions).
The best time would be the day after the expiry date. For 24 hour shops, this would mean 00:01 hours, but I really don't know what time the systems kick over for such things, so best leave it until light!0 -

In which case, if they were really concerned about not overcharging people (as they claim to be) wouldn't you have HO people studying reports of these overcharges and issuing edicts to all the branches to ensure relevant SELs/posters etc are removed?
I cannot believe that with something like the Dyson (the cost of it) that there are still incorrect SELs showing in stores 2 or even 3 (lost track of time) days later. Well, I can believe it actually...
The CD posters dated 26/12 - my local store were still showing these on Thurs (so I picked up a couple - thanks!). Someone has posted their store still has the poster up. Wouldn't you have thought (if they really were that bothered about price integrity) that they would have got it sorted 2 days later at the latest, by issuing an instruction to all stores to remove the posters?
Perhaps I am missing the point?!!?
All this evidence suggests a number of possibilities but I most obvious would be that the collation of the Overcharge reports isn't too important at Head Office. If it were, just one report for an item at every shop should get the problem cleared up within a couple of days.
Whilst I don't believe that it's deliberate, it is very sloppy and suggests that the company is quite happy with the current situation of overcharging people and r&r-ing those who are savvy enough to notice.0 -
The CS in Longton refused to refund me the other night on 3 items that I'd been overpriced on - they said the chart poster was just a "guide". I've emailed Tesco but am getting no where, they're just saying that if I have a problem I must go back to Longton
They've quoted their policy to me, I'm just trying to get them to confirm if the chart poster is the same as SEL

AS I SAID A MINUTE AGO I COULD NOT FIND ANY SEL UNDERCHARGING COMPARED TO THE PRICE PACK BUT I DID SEE IT THE OTHER WAY ROUND WHERE THE SEL PRICE WAS MORE THAN THE PRICE PACK, LIKE THE EXAMPLE ABOVE. AM I CORRECT IN ASKING FOR A REFUND WHEN THE PRICE ON THE PACKET IS LESS THAN THE SEL??? AS THIS SEEMS TO BE UNDERCHARGING RATHER THAN OVERCHARGING ????? ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE HELPFUL AS I AM NEW TO THIS.
No, you can't get a refund in these circumstances since you have not been overcharged.0 -
Actually i'm not so sure if you would be refunded or not, i've been checking out this page tesco which simply says "if things don't add up".
I would have thought their R&R policy was there to alert tesco to both overcharging and under.Running total for swagbucks - £270 since Jan

If you read the policy further it clearly states
"if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price......"
They don't operate R&R on undercharges.0 -

Paid cash as usual at the till confident I would get my RR. Told girl on till had no clubcard so I offered the lady behind me the opportunity to put her clubcard on my bill which she was greatful for. I'll bet that confused Mr.T when I took my receipt to CS for RR.0

Had a disconcerting time with my latest R&R (Mobile phone - posted in t'other thread).
First of all the CS noted down my clubcard number - I asked why and got "told to do it by manager" type response.
Then - CS refused to give me back my original receipt - they usually mark the refund and give the slip back.
Challenged this - CS came back, accompanied by Security and said "manager said we need to keep it".
Asked for a copy - they agreed - time ticking by - so I gave up and departed.
Security guy commented "you're in here a lot, pick the copy up next time".
Now I know that some CS people know me - had the odd snide comment in the past - but do I now need to worry???????
Any help Dudes would be appreciated.....
