SUCCESS - I rang head office at 9.00am this morning and explained what had happened.
2 hours later they rang me back and apologised.
I can go and collect the hoover from the store today !!!!!!
Got my free Dyson.
Thankyou to everybody that commented on this - you guys are great !!!
I really didn't expect that to happen. However, it goes to show that if you stick to their rules and make sure you reinforce them, their customer service is really pretty good.
Lets face it, Tesco must be well aware of this board and I guess that there are plenty of other sites that discuss such things. We may be in a minority at the moment as far as Tesco customers are concerned, but it's a growing band and the bad publicity that could so easily come of poor customer service may have an effect on Tesco's sales.
Tesco HO should be applauded for dealing with this properly and promptly.0 -
Hi everyone.
I went to Tesco last night and really thought my luck was in. I saw the Sony 15" LCD on display in a part of the store near the clothes and it was for £349 i then walked around to the electrical bit and it was there for £299 so wrote down the model number to make sure that it was the same one which it was and got a box from the display near the clothes. Anyway I then went to the scanner and unfortunatly it was scanning at £299 instead of £349. DRAT!!!! I was so gutted!!! I could do with one of these for my caravan.

I posted in another message that I saw this in the Sprowston Norwich branch on Friday and wasn't sure if they'd reduced the price or if it was a mistake. There didn't seem to be stock there and theres no scanner in that branch, so I didn't want to muck about. I did suspect though, that it was a reduction as £349 is a bucket load of money for a normal aspect 15inch LCD and I couldn't imagine many people buying it.
I think it will be down to he £279 price point again soon.0 -
went to Tesco Extra Batley today, they are so on the ball there, never find any misprices, all the things mentioned on here - Dyson, Tom Tom, tv's etc scan at 'ask at the till for price', no cd's/dvd's mispriced, stickers over the finds like Digilogic....anyone had any misprices here?0

Got a jar of discounted nuts priced on the shelf for 1.09 went through the till at 1.85. Complained but only got difrence. Should have I made a fuss. Do extra stores have the same rule?you go all your life thinking that money and comfort will bring you happiness only to find all you need is something to be enthusiastic about.:j0

Myrtle,
If you are desperate for a misprice then every store will do it on 2 mackerel in the packet. And you will probably find the Castelli Parmigiano cheese at all stores too. No luck with cds in our store since I cleaned them out a week ago. They dont seem to alter the price of the cheese or mackerel though. I have searched high and low over 20 mile radius for the sat nav, tvs, dysons and cameras but no luck. I think their policy is a limit of 2 packs of each for an RR.
I have a taste for this now and am not giving up!! GOOD LUCK. Dont forget to follow the assistant back to your misprice shelf or you risk him altering the price and you not getting the RR!!!0 -
Yes, you should have made a fuss and pointed to the large poster by customer service that gives their policy in case over overprice.
I was overcharged for CD's today (shock!horror!) but c/s assistant only wanted to refund the difference. I pointed to the wall and asked why she was not following company policy. She immediately relented and gave my my goods and a refund.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Robert please don't tell my local store about the 2 pack limit! I always push my luck with 3! (2 for me and one for a friend!)Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

Firefly,
Thats the name of my boat.
Promise I wont tell your store. I got 3 packets of steak the other day and they went through despite the assistant telling the manager only one should go through. I would like to take my teenage children R and R ing too but should I really be bringing them up like this? After all its sailing a bit close to the wind. We are not second hand car dealers here!!!0
