I've had well over a £1500 worth of r&r's from Tesco in the last few months and am not going to give up my hobby either because of yet another 'naughty, naughty' type comment.
Happy New Year to all :rudolf:
What a great hobby it is too! :T0 -

Fair enough if you stumble across one, and claim against their Store Policy, but to deliberately go out and find products that you had no intention of buying and then get for free is not ethical.
It is poor trading to overcharge customers, we are saving them £000's because they become aware of their mistakes and don't get fined by Trading Standards.
They then correct their mistakes and subsequent customers are not overcharged.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Its just a shame that when I've got an r & r, instead of correcting the price to the lower price, they just seem to remove the SEL or poster so customers don't realise they are being overcharged.0

You're absolutely right. They've stickered over War of the Worlds on their chart poster and numerous prices on their CD poster when I've got r+r. Customers lose out on genuine offers that they should have on because they're too rubbish to change the prices on their computers! For everyone who gets r+r, how many are being diddled out of genuine offers?0 -

I got a right one today but not nasty at all and nice enough to have a chat - she tried ...and tried to deny a SEL was:
a) there at all
b) for that sized product (specified on label it was)
c) for a valid date to 31/01/06
then:
d) continued to negotiate the r&r amount
e) and finally, chucked the SEL off to one side so as to hide the date!
course had she known she was up against an MSE'er - she wouldn't have bothered with even a) let alone b), c), d) or e)!0 -
Managed to pick up 2 of the Premier 3 Megapixel cameras last night in different stores (Addlestone and Brooklands). SEL £29.97, charged £34.97.
Interesting to see the different attitudes of CS and it also explains why I hardly ever find misprices in Addlestone, but Brooklands is usually riddled with them.
In Addlestone, big prominent £29.97 on yellow with no expire date. CS rep was apologetic, immediately called a colleague over and asked them to clear the shelf of all of the 3.0 cameras in silver, and check all other store locations for digital cameras bringing back a sample of each to be scanned along with a note of the SEL price. So within 10 mins of reporting I'd be confident there would be no more mispriced cameras anywhere in the store. Refund process took less than 3 mins.
In Brooklands, the misprice was on a white SEL (camera hidden on a shelf under the Sat Navs). CS went in to instant denial mode stating I'd picked up the wrong camera, and the SEL didn't apply as the model quoted on the SEL didn't have an S suffix, but the camera model did. Having explained to him at length the "S" referred to silver (showing him a P for pink model), and the camera I picked up was silver as described on the SEL, he said he'd need to speak to someone about it. He had to check with the checkout supervisor, then the "head" of entertainment, then the store duty manager, before begrudingly opening the till, and getting out a fiver cash. I pointed to the 3 copies of the "If something doesn't add up" on display around the CS desk, and he issued a full refund on my CC. Stating in the process that the store manager had authorised a full refund, BUT most customers "prefer" just the difference refunded in cash! All in took about 20 mins, and I have no confidence whatsoever that the same model in other locations in the store aren't mispriced, or the SEL was corrected!

Previous Post of mine
Last month I was overcharge by 75p each on 2 jars of nescafe, if just 10 jars were sold in each store on that day Tesco would have made £15000 in overcharges on One Product - and I would bet they sell a lot more than 10 jars a day each. I don't think my £11.50 r&r on 2 jars would have upset them much - they didn't remove the SEL and I can only presume this is because they make much more than they loose on these overcharges. I think the ones to feel sorry for are the other 20,000 customers who all got overcharged and didn't notice - not Tesco0 -
I wonder if someone can give me some advice, 2 days i go i placed an order for home delivery, i have just recived my order how ever i ordered a few crates of lager which was on offer at 10.98 there was no date to say when the offer ended, however i have been chraged 13.48 each have just cheaked the website and the prices have gone up.
The email they sent me also contained contained the 10.98 price but also says
If the final price charged for any item is more than you wanted to pay, you can return it and we'll give you a full refund. Just give it back to the driver and we'll take care of it for you.0 -
As a newbie moneysaver, and a recent convert to Tesco, how exactly does one find out which items are mispriced before you actually make the purchase? This assumes that I am in the store at the time and not logged on here!
