yes but does tesco's system automatically update the till prices?

what i mean is, if the sel still has the offer price after midnight, say 00.02 theres no arguing with that, however, will it when scanned come up at the higher price? or will they not be updated and still come up at the offer price despite it technically being over???

If it was to work out in my favour at this time of night, what do i do if they get shirty and i say to ring head office, who's going to be there at midnight eh?

Rang up HO today and tried to get my R+R sorted but the cs told me that as it was a promotion that had finished (as the offer ticket stated) the R+R was not applicable. by this time I'm getting very frustrated and asked to speak to a supervisor. She hung up on me!!!!

I rang local traging standards who told me that I should write in or possibly try the store manager. I hate writing letters and could not get through to store tonight.

(quick recap) I bought Pc SEL £199 and Monitor SEL £199 with get £50 off if buying both sign still up after offer finished. PC went through till at £199 but monitor @ £159. (miscalculated and thought the £50 had come off but in effect I was £10 worse off than I thought). next day CS in store agreed to give me £50 back as goodwill gesture but I said I would rather take it up with HO and get full r+r.

Did I read somewhere of a helpful person in HO?

anymore advice out there.

I have said this before but HO will not support an out of date offer on a SEL if the end date is shown. If the store won't honor the overcharge you wont get anyware with HO.

I agree. I seem to remember that there is a get out clause to their r&r policy where these dated special offer labels (the yellow ones) are concerned. Whether we like it/agree with it or not r&r on these type of overcharges seem to be down to individual stores. I know some mse'ers have got r&r in these cases but others haven't.....if the store says no then HO certainly wont help you with yellow SEL's. I know it's a bizarre policy - no rhyme or reason!

I dont know if I read on here or somewhere else but someone else had the same problem with an out of date offer, Mr T would not refund. The person contacted Trading Standards and said it was not up to a customer to ensure that the displays are for the current date or not. Tescos were at fault.

I can see Trading Standards saying something along those lines i have to admit, that its tesco's offer and their responsibility to properly advertise etc etc and they are responsible to ensure that when an offer ends that there should be no labels to the contrary price wise.

surely on any of these misprices (but especially the past date ones) if CS don't refund you on the day, then by the time you get TS notified and involved the offending label could easily have been removed so you would have no evidence of the trading offence
