Tesco misprice policy discussion area II

The customer services in Longton tonight were really bad. They all ganged up on me and said the prices on their chart cd posters weren't really their prices they were just "guides"
There were 3 of them and I must admit I just gave up with them and asked for a complete refund for the 3 cd and asked for the address of head office.
This is the first time I've had any problems with getting refunds for mispricing. I've emailed customer services to see what they say.0 -
that does sound bad :-(0

well i got six cds that were from the poster which was dated week 26 dec, so an out of date poster but no problems with the refund of £74, i did have a problem last week with a different store cs lady who was very akward saying she couldn't see how i had been over charged, i asked for the manager who told her to refund me, the poster is false/ misleading advertising.Another day another R&R
kindly sponsored by tescos.

Was that in Longton ? There were loads wrong. I did have about 10 in out trolley that all scanned higher than the poster. I just went with 3 that I quite fancied.0 -
--Tony-- wrote:And TS will say you should get it for the SEL price (and maybe fine Tesco's £2000 too) but something tells me thats not what your after?
As I said before R&R is done through choice by Tesco's and its not their policy to apply it to an out of date promo thats marked on the SEL.
As its not law and Tesco's choice it can't be enforced by TS.
My advice is if CS say no accept a refund and let it go.
I was led to believe that because Tesco's have publicised their policy in plain view of the customer, then it does become enforcable by TS. Otherwise they could argue that prices indicated on SELs are just a guide price and publicised through choice, therefore not enforcable.
By displaying the poster, isn't this the same as entering into a contract with the customer, to which the customer agrees by shopping there? Similar to the 'contract' to all shoplifters who are advised on posters (and therefore agree) that they will be prosecuted?0 -
I'm not convinced this thread is entirely fair, it appears to me that this thread promotes defrauding Tesco by taking unfair advantage of a price mistake.
Fair enough if you stumble across one, and claim against their Store Policy, but to deliberately go out and find products that you had no intention of buying and then get for free is not ethical.0 -

Thanks for your enlightenment ukcobra. I for one shall never do it again! Not deliverately anyway lol. :whistle:0 -
Im honest enough to say i will. Just been and got that organic chicken on r & r depite originally being offered the price difference.
As for the cameras i was on about yesterday , one of them has had the finished offer sticker removed and is scanning at the right price but the other one hasnt got the offer removed and is scanning at the higher price now. I decided against it anyway in the end and was happy with getting a chicken on r & r.0 -
PS, on rereading that i wouldnt like abijanzo to think i was calling their honesty into question, i wasnt, I just mean i dont have a problem with going and chasing / exploiting a tesco offer if its something i need or can make use of.0

It's ok...I was being sarky as anyone who knows me from this thread would understand.
I've had well over a £1500 worth of r&r's from Tesco in the last few months and am not going to give up my hobby either because of yet another 'naughty, naughty' type comment.
Happy New Year to all :rudolf:0
