Tesco misprice policy discussion area II

I tend to use the price checkers located in the store to check up whether it matches the SEL. There is a thread somewhere (Shop but don't drop) I think where people have been listing the location of the scanners.
Hope this helpsDivorce all finished- now to start saving for a better future!0 -
well tesco are pulling out all the stops, after all the cds and dvds i have bought for the sake of it..i actually purchased one i wanted today and was overcharged after arguing that the price on the poster was cheaper they stood their ground and said the policy states if the price is diff on the shelf or product, manager backed cs lady up,ho backed manager up! gutted! oh well the £68 quid refunded on cds yesterday softened the blow!(lower poster price again! was ok yesterday in diff store) " i wanna be the minority! " :dance:0

Went into Tesco looking for the first time today.
Found a Sony 28inch TV box with sign (in plastic sleeve) on it.
Box said model XYZ
Sign said model ABC £399 small label said `Discontinued`
SEL above box near to display Sony TV said Model ABC £379
Queried label (not price) with staff who said the £399 price was for the better model TV with Freeview box, the price label should not have been on that box.
They said they had the £399 model in stock but not on the floor and not on display, they get one out for me to have a look if I wanted.
So basically, although the TV was not on display the same model was being advertised at £399 on large sign and £379 on SEL.
If it had not been such a massive box, I might have asked for one. Had I asked for one and carted it down the store to checkout, presumably it might have acanned at the lower price anyway.
Any advice on what I should/could have done would be welcome

HI Addy
Please tell the promotions that end today 3/1/06 so that i can be there first thing tomorrow.0 -
*Most* of the malt whiksy had £5 off. These all stop (with the exception of the Balvenie and Glenfiddich *spit*) tomorrow.
A site like Fixture Ferrets is useful for pinpointing when an offer ends:
http://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk/search.asp?EiStore=Tesco
Or if you are after specific items, try checking the price on Tesco.com and then comparing with the SEL price in store on the same day. *Usually* the Tesco.com site will be the same as the till price (though there may be odd discrepancies).

Also be aware that the ended promotion may have been replaced by another which is better - therefore no overcharge!
As Rufus says, tesco.com is as good a guide as any to see what the till price is likely to be - esp. when there's a multibuy which scanning machines don't show.0 -
LOL I was reading about the Tesco policy and decided that as i needed to go and get a couple of things i would try my local Tesco for a change.
kept my eyes out and spotted some 'mini chicken fillets in a korma sauce' sticker on the pack said 2 for £5, SEL said 2 for £4.50.
found the only barcode scanner in the store and that would only let me know that they were £2.68 each, gave it a go in the end anyway as it was still a good offer at 2 for £4.50.
They went throught the till at 2 for £5.00, went to the CS desk and informed them that the SEL was a lower price where they told me that the sticker price was correct stated lower price on SEL again and escorted CS lady to inspect it, she turned the label around there and then.
I was given both packs of fillets and a refund for £5.36, 2 x £2.68
I thought i was also on for getting an essential clash cd too, SEL £15 odd, sticker was £6.98, scanned at £6.98 ....!!!!!!0 -
Just been and done the weekly at goldington road bedford (found a second scanner too, added to the scanner location thread) and didnt find anything :-(
However, there are two digital cameras on offer with £20ish off each and the offer says that they end today, so im assuming thats midnight??
Was thinking that I might pop up tomorrow after dropping off the kids to school and then rescanning them to see if they scan at the original price?
anyone know how long is reasonable to let them change the sel's so i dont look too much like a cheeky get :-) ?
I think to go there at midnight would be pushing it a bit really.....0 -
Go and get the cameras on dot of midnight..... I would. Surely Head Office appreciate us drawing these misprices to their attention. After all it saves Tesco from getting into trouble. Loaded up with more mackerel and steak this pm. Unfortunately Dyson was priced correctly so ...yes I couldnt find my credit card when it came to pay.0
