Ditto!!!!!!!! Lets not push the boat out too far please and be grateful what was given to you.0 -
it was only a wondering0

Also, this is the same tescos that when I pointed out to them a lot of their CDs were priced wrong and customers were being overcharged according to their poster, what did they do, put the prices right. No they just crossed out the prices on the poster.0

I've been addicted to this thread for months now but this is my first post so I hope I do this right!
Went into Tesco Congleton today and bought disney 3 disc scanned £12.97 poster £8.97 went to CS who said poster should never have been put up..... it was not by one of their staff it is an outside company that comes in and they do not do that price in store... Asked for money back as not happy to pay that price and they said they only have to honor SEL I explained that I presumed that was the full price but this week was offer like it says on poster but CS said no the price is on the SEL!!!!!
Really miffed as this was my first misprice and seen on thread other people manage to get away with it!
Any hints?
Thanks0 -
Call head office, they are wrong, it was advertised at that price. I had a simialr issue, and it was resolved that way.0

I had a similar issue over the poster when the cs insisted it was an internet price, not a store price. When I called ho the first person I got didn't seem to get my point. Fortunately we got cut off and the next person was very understanding.- she was a manager. I got rnr from a very chastened cs the next day.
You are correct- they are wrong. Those prices on the poster are the tesco special offers of the week and constitute a false advertisement if they don't honour them. :rudolf:0 -

Anyone interested in 'setting up' local mis price information ?
When viewing posts I am always disappointed when the store location is not mentioned or the store is miles away. I live in Tyldesley stores I can reach within 30 mina are Atherton,Tyldesley (wife said this a.m they removed all SEL's in CD area of store), Middlebrook,Prestwich. Do MSE'ers living around this area think it is worth starting our own thread ? More out of interest than anything else
Great idea, I didn't even know about this until a couple of days ago when I read this thread. I live same place as you and so have the same stores local to me.Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you0 -

I have done this before, but got refund at another store. There was a long discussion on the ethics of this a few months back, and many agreed that what's the difference to Tesco? I mean £100 in your pocket or an x-box that they can re-sell at £100? If you'd prefer the cash go for it - but I would try another store to avoid hassle. :rudolf:0 -

The fact is, it is absolutely irrelevant if they are intended to be Internet prices or prices you can get elsewhere. If they are using such marketing collateral to draw your attention to an item they have for sale at £X price and the collateral does not make it abundantly clear that the offer only applies in XX circumstances (small print is not sufficient in these cases) then the lower price must be charged. Consumers are not expected to have to read the small print of offers such as Shelf Edge Labels and marketing posters in store.0 -

This wouldn't really be that useful for the time it would take. 9 times out of 10 the SEL/poster etc is removed, and the overprice no longer valid for that store - so what is the point in knowing about offers that are no longer relevant?DONE: Great North Run 09!
