Tesco misprice policy discussion area II

If you buy, say, a tv and take it home and unwrap it etc, then notice you've been overcharged when you check your receipt - can you go back the following day and claim a refund? If so, do you have to take the tv back with you?
TIA
C0 -
I've just been back to the Tescos where I got the cds from. CS have taken down the poster but 2 days later still haven't changed the SEL and are still overcharging on the cds.
I looked for the PS2. Only 1 in stock and charging £114 but no sign saying the PS2 should be under £100Divorce all finished- now to start saving for a better future!0 -
I can't imagine that you need to take the item back with you, just the receipt. They will write on the original receipt that you have been refunded for purchases and also provide you with a new receipt with the refund shown.
My big concern with all this is if you return to the store for a refund, but the lower priced SEL or poster has been removed. How would you argue you have been overcharged? I can see quite a few non-MSE people getting caught out by this. Once again Mr T will probably win!0 -
I see what you're saying - bit of a risk there... The only advantage I see is that you would appear to be more genuine than someone who say goes into the store, heads straight for the tv aisle, loads up 2 tvs, pays then heads straight to cust svcs...
Maybe coming back a couple of hours later would be a good compromise (still risky though as you say)0 -
can someone post a link to the tv deal or advise what the differential is please?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

Ben, it's posted in the misprice thread here:

But we've only got the scan price, £269.970 -
Regarding Mis prices
Anyone interested in 'setting up' local mis price information ?
When viewing posts I am always disappointed when the store location is not mentioned or the store is miles away. I live in Tyldesley stores I can reach within 30 mina are Atherton,Tyldesley (wife said this a.m they removed all SEL's in CD area of store), Middlebrook,Prestwich. Do MSE'ers living around this area think it is worth starting our own thread ? More out of interest than anything else0 -
i think that having lots of local threads is not really a good idea because tescos reduce and up their prices nationally but i think what would be a good idea is for people to state the store name - so i will do that from now on - p.s the goodmans tv i bought was from tesco extra in colchester (highwood store) and they removed the SEL once i had pointed it out to them.#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000
