Thanks gingerckick
I was passing the Blackpool extra store tonight and thought of your post , well I picked up 3 cd’s the chicken was still there still wrong price but I didn’t bother freezer now full !! . had a right battle with C/S four of them arguing that it was not a overcharge but a miss price. And no policy board at C/S the cheek I had to take them back to the electric counter (I had spotted one there) and ask the manager to read it out loud then the top the Tosco promise, a quick so what is that all about loudly brought the just do it , full R&R thank you .
Windem is right
If you don't stand your ground with some CS then they will try and pull the wool over your eyes. Stand firm and be polite but insistent. Ask them the question 'How much is this item?' then 'How much was I charged?'.
I think with the number of people being aware of this now from this site alone any messing from C/S and off to trade and standards with hundreds of complaints a day Mr T would have to start charging the right prices, after all that is surely all we wont this, (when we have all bagged a computer obviously )
Be aware Mr T some of us may get fed up being treated like something on your shoe
And really complain, I am no pro but I could easily find 10 miss prices a day for a week, would that be 100 complaints to trade n standards.
Happy new year to all MSE’s

I did get the fairy princess and ballerina books (still mispriced) and left a few on the shelf.
I noticed this myself today too Bella! I think it was the beginning of October when I first posted these misprices after genuinely buying the books for my daughter. It makes my blood boil that Tesco couldnt care less that they are over charging customers every day with hundreds of people making them aware of their misprices - but they only seem to rectrify the ones that would impact their profits.
We got a £140 telly on r&r today which is of consolation to us, but it still makes me fume that they knowingly overcharge every day
Well said0 -
got 4 cds today that were on the poster for 8.97 and i was charged 2 x12.97 and
2 x13.97, went to cs desk young woman started to serve me, she disappeared and came back with the SEL which were the correct prices, i told her i was looking at the poster prices, i took her to show her the poster, back to cs desk where she spoke to another cs woman, this other cs woman told my mate she couldnt have a refund on butter basted chickens as the SEL said butter flavoured, so knew she was gonna be awkward, i once again explained about the poster prices, off she went she came back saying she didnt know what i was on about as there were no posters and anyway there was no way the disney 3 cds would be down at 8.97, so off i went to show her the poster, she was not happy and said she would not give a refund as she did not agree that i had been overcharged, i asked her to get the manager, she phoned the manager and then told me the manager was too busy to come down so she would go and see the manager, she left me waiting for 20 minutes and then returned with the manager, i once again explained what had happened and the manager lady was very nice and apologized for my waiting around and told the CS woman to give me a refund, the CS woman was not happy as she chucked 53 pounds in my general direction.Another day another R&R

Hiya
Am new to this tesco misprice thing so sorry in advance for what may seem a stupid question!
What does R&R stand for??
Does it apply in all stores?
I cant seem to find any info on it in my local store - no sign up by CS desk.
Has anyone tried this in Weston-super-Mare??
Am wanting a few CD's so may try it...... I'll have to push myself to be brave!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
R&R means refund & replace thou some cs staff (customer services) think it means resist & refuse! on the big blue signs behind the cs desk somewhere near the bottom it says something like.....in the unlikely event that you are charged more than the price on the shelf/or on the item then you will get a full refund and get to keep the item, most cs staff will tell you that you get a full refund and keep the item, but some cs staff will try to offer you the difference, if they do this then i sort of point out the big sign behind them, they do then usually pay up, good luck.Another day another R&R

I think it's refund and retain isn't it?
Anyway the thing to look for is a huge blue board behind customer services, at the bottom of which is a paragraph with "And if things don't add up" as the title.0 -
Has anyone on this Board actually been in touch with Trading Standards with a view to having Tescos fined?
I feel that Tescos are ripping off so many people but I am quite happy to make them pay and give me the items for free ( 15" Sony WEGA LCD TV on Wed, and qty 2 Kylie albums yesterday).
My guess is that Tescos are content for people to take advantage of their R+R policy as the hit is small compared to the extra revenue they gain from all the other unsuspecting punters who don't realise they are being over charged.
Maybe the loss in R+R might end up big enough one day to have an impact on their profits.
Well, that's about just over £400 in my pocket to-date...0 -
I've only had £70's worth of free cd's so far and some cheese but whenever I have had a problem I will complain to trading standards because if they fix the sel's and R&R they've rectified it anyway and if not I'll just get more!!![FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

Hi went to Mr T today and noticed Finest British Rump Steak £10.49 silver sticker crossed out £9.99. pack kg price £9.99 sel £9.99save 50p £9.49 so hmmm I thought is that right so what the hell Found a member of staff loading meat in shelf walked himover to finest beef and asked is this the meat thats reduced ? scratch of head yes mate thats the one so 4 packs in my trolly paid then to cs
Got the usual you have paid the item price so whats wrong? (will these people never learn) anyway went with her to shelf pointed to sel pointed to product kg .Oh was the reply I will have to get a manager come with me to cs so I can call 1
Now I'm thinking sweating and trying to look like I am just an innocent shopper not an eagle eyed member of MSE .
YES I'm getting to the point
While waiting at CS for about 10 min a couple came up with a PLAYSTATION 2 in their mits ,a bit anoyed that the sel was something like£94.97 and the product scanned at £117.97
I nearly died when it registerd in my brain what they had just complained about
Unless you sell me that ps2 for £94.97 I wont be happy thats misleading...
he said
anyway got meat free and some boxer shorts
so thanks MSE and all that help
saved today about £25 total so far £65 and I dont normally do the shopping just pick up the odd box of milk or stuff0 -
A few silly questions since I've never been fortunate enough to be overcharged:
No1. what is SEL
No2. where is this yellow poster or just poster that everyone talks about, I hardly see any posters in my tesco
No3. how do you know if you will be overcharged for something because some people seem to go out with the intention of finding things that they will be overcharged with and they manage to find it(even if they haven't been posted on this forum). I may be mistaken and they actually intended to buy the item and happened to get lucky.
No4. Say if a poster says a very low price and gives an expiry date on the poster aswell but the poster is there the day after it expired, is that counted as misguided pricing?since tesco can argue that the expiry date is on the poster and I should have looked?is the trick to getting a misprice to go the morning of the day after the offer expires before they have had the chance to take the posters down?
No5. What if the tesco manager disagrees that they have such a policy, how do I show them that I am right?
No6. when there is a misprice in one town, will there be the same misprice in all tescos across the country?
No7. when something is scanned with the wrong price, do I tell the till person or do I wait till I've paid and take the reciept to customerservice?
No8. I have heard alot of people getting free CDs, which ones are mispriced and how can I tell they are mispriced?
thanx0
