Today i went to a tesco for a honest & genuine refund on faulty item & got nothing, then to top it all they overpriced me twice!! but i only noticed one(until i looked on this website & realised the second one was much more money).
When i said i would have the refund and the goods (extremely misleading SEL and this was obviously put below the only make up bags that SEL could possibly be pertainig to the customer service woman said no as not the same barcode and stared at me as if i was the scum off the bottom of her shoe for asking!! She did not remove misleading SEL either. So i feel the customer service in this littlehampton store is terrible and felt like crying as tesco yet again have ripped me off 3 times in 1 day (totalling £20(includes their cheating dvd rental) and not including faulty item unable to return)and again managed to make me feel like scum.So hows about a thread praising the good Tescos that give good customer service(that honour the R & R policy) & those that are very poor like i feel this store is.I wont go there again unless i really have to .
so please where are the good & other bad customer services in regards to misprice policy??
    Littlehampton boo!
  • What item would they not refund? What was wrong with it ? How old is it ?
They do not have to refund - they can repair/replace if appropriate. Did they offer this ?

    What is SEL?
    Regards
    Mike

Surely this should be in the Tesco Discussion thread? It's hardly a Grabbit bargain.

Sorry to hear about your trouble with Tesco anyway.

Can be covered in the existing thread in my opinion. No need for a third Tesco misprice related thread.

Sorry to hear about your Troubles Mandles. I have been in the same situation as yourself, and it damn right sucks to me made to feel bad about returning a faulty item.

My advice would be go over the CS teams head (ugly as it is) and go direct to the store manager. Call, or better still if you get no luck there write a letter of complaint to Tescos Head office, and emphasise how much distress the CS caused you.

I would demand they honour their R&R policy for the overprice also.

    Hope you get some where.

    Hey everyone!!!
First post!!! Been viewing this site for a few weeks, ordered Martin's book from Tesco and got 200 points!!! Starting to be a real money saver.
I managed to get banned from a Tesco store today!!! (I work for tesco btw) On monday, I spotted a poster over DVD's saying they were £12.97, they scanned at £14.84. I got a refund no problems, or so i thought...
Went into the store today and was aproached by a security guard and a section manager, the manager said "Hi, you're not actually supposed to be shopping here are you? can I ask you to leave" I looked at her confused and said no. she went on to say that I was banned on monday. I once again said no I wasn't banned. I asked why I was apparently banned, she said, "did you come in monday and get a refund on some dvd's?" I said yes, then she said "right". She said her and the security guard would escort me out, I asked for store manager, after about 5 minutes of embarassment he finally came out. Then said "do you work for tesco?" I said yes, he said "oh, ok" Then explained that I am banned because on monday I had demanded a refund for a 8p overcharge,(which was actually £6 or something!) and that because I work for tesco he will be ringing my store manager. I explained that I was overcharged and just got my money back like anyone would. He then went on to say that i have been spotted comming to this store just to find mis-prices and that i should follow the company etiquette as i do work for them.(It was only my second misprice from this store and i have shopped there years.) Then he asked me questions like, where do you live?, what store do I work at and what department? I answered but pointed out that the questions were irrelivant. Anyway, by the end I was escorted out the store not allowed to finish my shopping. It was poor treatment and in the way it was handled. It happened in centre of store, and people I know were there, very embarrassing. if anyone got any suggestions on what to do, it will be appreciated. I now have to look forward to speaking to my store manager that hate's me. I asked for the head office number to call, he said we'll get that for you, I asked to use there phone, he said no as it was a freephone number, I was handed a piece of paper with 01992 632222 written on it. I said this isn't freephone, he said it was!!! Anyway, that enough winging, any suggestions? Trading standards?
    Many thanks b2_lnw

B2_LNW mate! That really is disgusting treatment. If that's how they treat their staff no wonder us customers get it rough sometimes!
At the time of your shop you were a tesco CUSTOMER simple as that and as such you had all the rights of a customer. They are so out of order it's laughable.

We had a Tesco excursion tonight just went out for some chips and ended up with 3 x PS2 king kong games and a starwars dvd refunded - brill extra xmas pressies - no probs with r&r. Seem to be quite a few misprices at the mo...we havent bothered for a while - glad we did tonight though :)

You should contact your local newspaper, get a front page spread about being Banned from your employer by your employer for simply shopping and being ripped off by same employer.

Local papers love this sort of thing, especially against someone big like Mr T

    Good luck :snow_grin
