So you "got caught" buying some items that were correctly priced!?!
The point is that there were two prices displayed for effectively the same CD, so someone could easily pay a pound more than they were expecting.
Tescos point that it had a different barcode is not going to be noticed by the average stressed christmas shopper, so perhaps they should have reduced the old stock (which was more expensive) to the price of the virtually identical new chart stock.

It pi$$es me off to here some of the rubbish that "loyal" tesco workers come out with, are they just jealous that they aren't allowed to use the policy as well

I find your comments rather insulting. Are you questioning Tesco's staff loyalty, the integrity of their posts, the knowledge that we have or something entirely different. And for your information, there is nothing stopping Tesco staff from using the R&R policy. I have even used it myself in my own store where i am well known to the CS staff (before i took over the PI dept that is). If however you abuse the policy then it is to be expected that you would pay the penalty as would any other member of staff who deliberately abused their employer.

Oh, and i am sorry to have !!!!!! you off. Perhaps I should run all my posts before you so as not to insult your feelings in future. Merry christmas.

Sorry, please explain how someone could end up paying a pound more than expected. Two different products, each with a different EAN, and each with a different price. By your own admission the products were in a different location and you "thought" they were the same. IF they were the same, they would have had the same EAN and thus the same price. The price for one of the cd's was £9.77 and correctly labelled and one was £10.97 and correctly labelled.

So both products were correctly labelled with the correct prices and still you complain .....seems to me like the store will not be right whatever they do.

  • Well, I'm sure they would be happy if they let everybody just come in and do a supermarket sweep run. Great for business mind you. I think this is honestly what most people expect, to be able to get all their shopping for nothing.

I bet they would still whinge though if they had to put a pound in the trolley!

    MMMMMMM

smacks of double standards if you ask me

Sounds like this is a deliberate policy of Tesco employees to misprice products so they can get the R&R, but now that the general public have cottoned on, they are all self righteous and defending "the Company"

Tsk Tsk, what would Headoffice say!!!!!

Reminds me of the day I was overcharged on Sirloin Steaks, the guy at CS desk asked if there were any more on the shelf, if so, he would go get them for himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to clarify, are you accusing employees of fraud and / or gross misconduct by way of deliberate mispricing?

  • Perhaps tesco's should spend a bit of money on a better computer system that gets the prices right. Other shops don't seem to have this problem.

come on, to be fair, they certainly do! There's threads on other boards about overcharges at Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys so it's not exclusive to Tesco by any means. Only Tesco offer the r and r, and as such have left themselves open to the sort of abuse of this policy we are seeing on this thread.

But they are by no means alone in making pricing errors.
