This is not a personal attack on the original posters, however these are exactly the type of posts that typifies the attitudes that are developing around the R&R policy.
The whole thread has evolved into a discussion about who got something for nothing.....for example, i saw someone say that they had got 6 cds (all the same title), now what is anyone going to do with 6 cd's of the same title i wonder???
Alot of people claim to be "doing Tesco a favour" when really it all SEEMS to be about getting whatever you can for nothing.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

well said, mate. I'm another one who doesn't like to read about the bragging how many or how much they got this time. Greed in any form is distasteful to the majority I'm sure and it's very apparent on the Tesco threads.
Now someone will be along in a minute, indignantly proclaiming that Tesco is robbing them and everyone else and it's their duty to stop it, but that doesn't wash any more because this has gone beyond that as people get peed off now if they don't get something for nothing0 -

No-one's forcing you to read the thread?
I was trying to work out how many customers tesco have a year, and what percentage of their stock is mispriced. I think it's reasonable to say that we're talking thousands of people overcharged by Tesco every year, nearly all of which will do nothing about it, as they usually don't realise until they get home, or have been put off by CS staff with hostile attitudes.
This is a company that made about £2bn pre-tax profit last year, and has serious issues with squeezing its suppliers, and becoming a monopoly in certain areas as competition is forced out. Now I'm all in favour of free market economics, but less in favour of monopolies and misleading marketing. There is nothing wrong with forcing a company to stand by its promises, and the effect of people reporting misprices SHOULD be positive for all Tesco customers (30% uk market share remember) as Tesco correct the prices in all of its stores. Whether they actually do or not is down to them. As for buying multiples, that's a greyer area, but I'm sure the family/friends of whoever had 6 copies of the same CD refunded will not be too upset to receive one at Christmas.0 -

Operator error or not, the main thing is that was was overcharged, and is wasn't your fault!
I had a similar outcome a month or two ago - just refuse the difference if that's the only offer (as in the pringles), or if they only want to refund the one item - then get in touch with Head Office (0800 50 55 55), and see what they have to say.
Good Luck.
Hi,
I saw this and rang the telephone number to find out what their overcharging policy was all about. I was charged twice for a 'Roboraptor' (£59.99) last week, and only noticed it after my card was debited. (it was a HUGE shop trip- over £250 and used stacks of vouchers!) I was refunded the £59.99 there and then.
The lovely lady on the phone at CS Head Office said she'd call my local branch and I was to take my receipt in with me on my visit this afternoon. I just got back from there where the CS desk refunded me for my original Raptor! So thank you for pointing out this policy, am now £59.99 better off! (Well - not really, as I spent it all on half price decorations and Christmas presents!!)

Possibly But to me there is a difference to buying one of the same item and being over charged and then getting your money back. Then to going and buying 12 of the same item because you know you will be overcharged and getting it for free. That to me is taking the p1ss.
And to me I have a life. Shopping is too much of a boring chore to spend hours scanning the shelf to see what I can get for free. And personally money may be tight but I not that hard up.
I am not saying Tescos are not to blame as they are getting it wrong. And you should get your money I don't deny that.
But now people seem to be getting funny about it now that tescos seems to be placing limits on the R + R policy I wonder why
If you use the policy correctly and discreetly just like pushing the odd voucher through when you have not bought the item fine. But do you really not think that Tescos don't scan boards like this looking for things like this.
I suspect that soon Tescos will change the R + R policy. And it will the overcharge back only. And I suppose Tescos will be blamed for that. Not the people who absued the system.
But personally when I am overcharged I am just happy to get my overcharge back. Getting the product for free is a bonus and in most shops not an automatic right.
But each to there own. I only shop in Tescos when I have to. My local one is open 24 hours a day. Handy for you can't sleep at night.

"Hello, Tescos makes lots of money, even more when they sell something for the wrong price (it usually isn't the wrong price, but because I'm a super vigilante I'll find any excuse whatsoever).
So I, as a super vigilante, savior of the United Kingdom, protector of innocent shoppers everywhere, will bring Tescos to rights by, you guessed it, fleecing as much out of tescos, for ME, that I can! Thats right, I'm going to make it my mission to try and get as much free stuff for myself, just for the sake of it, in order to protect shoppers everywhere."

I can't help but be grateful to this thread, rapidly running out of money now but thanks to the poster about the Shadows CD I managed to get a lovely present for my Mum completely free. I did try for the gammon too but unfortunately that went through at the right price so when I went off to customer service about my CD they were good enough to take it back off me
Lovely service from customer services, very polite and friendly staff who were apologising for the long wait (queue a mile long so it wasn't their fault anyway) and she knew all about the R & R policy without me even mentioning it.
I even managed to use £13 of Sainsbury mag vouchers going through the manned checkout so ended up getting £30 worth of shopping for £4.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Oh here we go again...
Some of us are happy using/abusing the Tesco R&R policy. Some of us aren't. So what's new? We have to start this argument again why? Can we not just please drop it and start being nice to each other instead of telling each other how naughty we think they are?

Its not really about "people being naughty" or even arguing. Take the CD charts for an example. People kept taking advantage of the pre-printed prices on the charts by buying multiple copies of a mispriced cd and then posting/boasting here and no doubt other places. Result: Tesco stops printing prices on the charts and no one gets R&R from this particular route. Objective achieved? From a Tesco point of view yes because no one is buying multiple copies of a cd and then getting it for free. From an MSE point of view, no, as no one is getting R & R from the charts. As i have said before, if people genuinely find misprices then fair play, use the policy, its what it is there for. But beware, just like the voucher policy, Tesco will clamp down on misuse.No-one's forcing you to read the thread?

Likewise, no one is forcing you to shop at a particular supermarket. If you find that the profits or the way that the retail sector is not to your particular taste then you have the freedom to take your business elsewhere - Tesco are number one because they do what they do extremely well - hence the 30% market share and the £2bn profits. I am sure that there are many Tesco shareholders on here and none of them were complaining this week when they recieved their dividend. And No, there is nothing wrong with forcing a company to stand by its promises and i shout as loud as anyone when companies dont. I refuse however to take the p1ss.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
