Barclaycard fraud - happened to you?
Comments

Yes I would definately make the minimum payment if it looks like it isn't sorted before then. When they deal with it then they should delete/amend the record that they update with the credit bureaux, but as they are so rubbish with this so far, I wouldn't take it for granted!
A question to all:
Has anybody been able to track the letters sent to barclaycard? Both my complaints letter AND query forms were sent to them using Recorded delivery, but the royal mail website isn't saying whether they have been delivered or not. Is this happening to others?
Thanks

I didn't need to track my recorded delivery letters - when I called last week in response to another *Duh, Stoopid* request I had from them, they admitted both my letters had been received. I'll go check out now though and post back in a min....JEccentric hedonistic genealogist, now *resting* after far too long working in Insurance Claims, the Building trade, running a B&B, and Adult Ed. :A0 -
Mike,
I've chucked away the receipt for the first letter I sent, but the second one says it was delivered the day after I posted it, delivered from their Wigston branch in Leicester. No other info.
Doesn't really help you though, nor me, since getting the letter doesn't mean they haven't shredded it, made paper planes out of it, or just sit throwing darts at it.

Thanks for checking for me. As I posted 2 letters on two seperate dates, using different post offices, and BOTH not being reported as delivered, I thought it was another barclaycard problem, but at least yours have got there...
Barclaycard have confirmed on the phone that neither letter has arrived...
I'll call Royal Mail tomorrow!
Cheers

Jeez mike, double trouble: Post Office and Barclaycard. Is there anyone we can rely on these days? Good Luck.

:rotfl: It does feel as though everything is going against me!!
I'm relying on another cashback card at the moment (with 1% cashback) and so the barclaycard will be shut ASAP!! :rotfl:
It is quite amusing, as a large number of people leave the credit card company I work for to go to Barclaycard... I don't think I'll follow suit after all this!** Mobile Phones.... I'm here to help **0 -
i can empathise with the problems people are having with getting claims forms out from barclaycard it took numerous phone calls and to get them myself a few months ago.. initally they were great and detected 10 x £10 phone top ups go through on my card within 8 hours of the transactions and phoned me and cancelled my card (new card recieved in 72 hours) but next statement had all fraudulaent transactions transferred from old card.. phoned and was transfered from dept to dept ending up at the origional dept who would send forms out! no forms arrived a week later phoned again (merrygoround of depts) turns out forms were not sent as they did not confirm my address - forms would be sent the next day - week later no forms rang again - round the departments eventually put through to barclays bank buissness account dept, swore down the phone my prob and put me through to the right f******* dept back to square one who said forms would be sent and reason they had not was they had forgotton to ask DOB!!! forms arrived 6 days later and were returned next post - the forms said i would hear a desision from barclay card in 10 days - eventually had statement and money had been returned but i never receved a letter - customer service my !!!!!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

Light at the end of the tunnel:
I've had all of the fraudulent transactions removed from my card now; they must have used the information I sent in my complaint letter, because they started disappearing before the forms I returned would have been received by them.
Since then, I've had 4 sets of duplicate forms arrive! Some with pre-paid envelopes, some without!
However, it's still not over - they haven't refunded the £12 for going over my credit limit. I'm not so much bothered about the £12, but I see this as an indication that this little incident has probably not been corrected with the credit bureaux.
In the meantime, I’ve had no official response to my complaint letter (which specifically asked for an update regarding the credit history side of things), and it’s been more than five days.
I’ve paid off every penny that I have spent on the card, even beyond the cashback award, so I’m now in debit. Once this is all finished, that debit will be spent and then it’s goodbye Barclaycard! (until my next credit card company is bought out by them)0 -

I have the same, letter sent to the customer services address on the statement 14 days ago just says "Information on your item is not yet available online.".
Will ask post office to refund, if they can't prove delivery; and will fax my letter to Barclaycrud again, since that will get me a proof of fax delivery for sure.
The most annoying part is that due to the shocking state of the Post Office, I had to queue for just over 40 minutes to post it recorded! That's a far bigger cost to me (time is money!) than the waste of money on recorded delivery.0 -
I have a £614.96 charge to my Goldfish card for a flight to Abu Dhabi made on the 26th October. I phoned Barclaycard who now own Goldfish and got a operater in India (this is at 10.26am) who told me she cannot see the transaction on screen and to call back on MONDAY... what...!!!! So after a demand to speak to security i get another Indian speaking person who say's this dispute has been logged and can't give me a complaint number just her name (yawn). Now i have to wait to receive a form within 5 days fill it in and send it back. Mean-while i'm sweating that Barclaycard just don't seem to be doing much, they have not told me they will stop the card or told me not to use the card. The strange thing is , is that the card used on the 26th ran out on the 27th when i received a new one from Barclaycard so i don't think they can use it anymore.
This is the 1st time this has happened to me , any advise? Does anyone know they number for there security dept in the UK ? I know they have one as i only spoke to them about 2 weeks ago when they wanted to check some transactions.... i'm now guessing someone was pinging my card and they did know this but never re-issued another card to me.
I have just found out that it is my new card that the fraud was commited on.At this point i have never used the new card.
I'm going to pay off the balance and move from Barclays ... i never liked them in any case after they stung the OH for £120 bank charges for a few quid being OD.0
