A-ha! What's this in the post from Barclaycard today? My overdue fraud paperwork stuff?
No - It's a couple of balance transfer cheques for my cancelled card. Or perhaps they're for the replacement card I haven't received yet.
I've had no reply to my secure online message either.

  • Ah ha, my dad started this thread, he also had a morgan stanley card and had some problems, but not as big as mine...

Yes I also received a BT 12 month 0% offer today, are they having a laugh?!

GOOD NEWS - I also received my fraud forms! I was going to copy it for everyone but it has my details over it in certain sections so even if there were alterations I'm not sure they'd be happy receiving dodgy copies.

Is this the beginning of the end?

I'm not sure if I mentioned above, but it was my 3rd attempt that actually got me the query forms sent out. The person was in a UK call centre, so if you guys have spoken to the offshore call centre then I wouldn't hold your breath!

  • I had this done to me, 350 odd pounds taken from my account by Western Union transfer in Ireland? Don't know how they got my details but they got away with the money and it seems will probably do it over and over with whoever is next! I did get a refund but it annoys me how they can just walk away with no come back.

I had to ring "India" twice to get my fraud papers to sign, that took about two months for them to sort it. Apparently they had been sent out a week after I reported it happening.
  • I had to call The Minions of Evil today to activate my card. Not the Minions themselves, but their Acolytes. Interesting that the card activation line links to a call centre in the UK: this part of the work is farmed out to someone else. I found out who as well., because, of course, with a captive audience they want to try and sell you something.

"Well, while we activate your card, which will just take a few moments, I'd like to tell you about Identity Theft and what we".....

She really couldn't understand the gales of hysterical laughter and gibbering at this point. Yes me dear, my account is thousands of pounds in the red because Barclaycard allowed the payments through on a cancelled card, and the same bozos want to sell me a security product NOW? Irony, Irony!:rotfl::rotfl:

The really Good News is that I can now use my card again. All £3 pounds of it, until someone actually decides to do something about refunding those payments.

And still no fraud dispute forms.

Don't hold your breath justjaky, that is what most of this discussion has been about. I also spoke to someone English, and was told the fraud was on my MSDW card, and that they would send me Dispute forms. It STILL hasn't happened!
They could tell me the moon was made of green cheese right now, for all that I have faith in them. No response to my "Dear Sirs, ...unless" letter, either, so far.

I had a message left on my voicemail today from Barclaycard's fraud people - asked me to call 0800 0851721. I'll let you know how I get on.
  • I sent off my dispute forms today. The letter said they'd included a freepost envelope to send them off in... I don't think so!!!

    No new card has arrived...

No reply to my complaints letter...

  • Hey, maybe if we put all these bits and pieces people have been receiving together we can make one Frankenstein type resolved claim, and share it between us like a Timeshare. Brush the 90 percent that haven't been resolved under the carpet, and just think , oh good, at least I got *this one* sorted...

    Maybe not.

Let us know what the fraud people say....

Called them up a little while ago. (They're there 24/7 according to the message they left)
The guy I spoke to seemed unaware that I'd already reported the dodgy transactions last week to their main customer services number. I think he expected me to not know anything about the problem yet...
Anyway, he's going to make sure the paperwork gets sent out to me.
If you're waiting for your forms, I'd give that number a ring - they sound like they'll actually do what they say they will.

BTW If you call, the password for the account will be the one you set up with Morgan Stanley if you can remember that far back...
