Barclaycard fraud - happened to you?

Only 11 phone calls? You'll need to make plenty more than that to get it sorted.
I wanted to close my account once I realised they were rubbish. However, I don't think you can until the balance is sorted.
Best of luck with getting through to that person!** Mobile Phones.... I'm here to help **0 -
Update on my case
After another phone call to Barclaycard a couple of days ago (not sure how many calls I made, I've lost count), I finally have all my money back today.
I did not call the general customer service number but called Fraud department instead. They then transferred my call to the After care fraud department and they sorted it out for me.
Just got my credit card application with another provider approved so BYE BYE Barclaycard. Hope I will never hear from you again!
Good luck everyone.0 -
I discovered a fraudulent payment on my B/C bill today: CCbilleu.com valetta, Malta. Never heard of them. Googled and a quite a few who've had the same entry, mostly the in the USA I think. I phoned B/C this morning and they blocked the card, said they'll send a new one in 7 days, and the dispute form.
I'm on a Mac, meticulous about online security, and have bought mostly from Amazon (although that includes 3 or 4 Amazon marketplace sellers, but I always check them out as best I can), and Tesco in the last year. Maybe a couple of other sellers too, who I checked out their websites to get a feel and also googled for any bad feedback. And anyway, in the last 2 years, I think I've always needed to go through an extra card-not-present Visa security check, so I can't imagine how anyone could get and use my number other than from a seller. Presumably their databases are compromised.
Although, *coincidentally*(?), around the date of the fraud I phoned B/C to register receipt of my new card - which took some time and waiting - and got a bit mouthy with the bloke when he started trying to sell me a deal for access to my credit rating which he said would enable me to check for fraud, and said I didn't need it.
Hmmm...interesting...
Edit:
Oh, yeah, and I've not made any payments in real shops in the last 2 years.0 -
Barclaycard allowed a third party to change my account addresss and date of birth details. They also sent 6 months worth of statements to the false address. Three fraudulent charges followed...
When I eventually found out, I wrote to Barclaycard asking them what security measures were in place to prevent this happening, and whether these measures were followed. I additionally requested that they pay for a £120 identity theft insurance policy that I had taken out as a result.
After one month, no reply...
I eventually contacted the Customer Relations department (who promise a reply within 28 days). After more than 28 days, they sent a letter saying they would reply in another 28 days. 28 days later, the same thing happened again... Eventually, I received a letter saying that they were delighted that the matter had been sorted out (?), and that the matter was now closed and that no more communication would be entered into. They suggested that if I was unhappy with the 'resolution' then I should contact the Ombudsman.
They have completely ignored all my concerns and requests for information, and have showed zero commitment to customer care. I have grave doubts concerning their security measures (and concern for such), and am disgusted at the way the have dealt with this matter.0 -
I have also had several fraudulent transactions on my Barclaycard card (which never leaves the house as I only use it online). When I phone them they say that they won't speak to me because the mobile phone number I gave them does not match the one they have on record so I have failed their security test. This is despite giving them my date of birth, address, card number etc. When I have phoned previously about fraudulent transactions they said that I had probably made transactions which I had forgotten about even though I insisted they were nothing to do with me.
The transactions were all made abroad (France, Spain, USA) and I have never even been to any of those countries. They include: Mister Gooddeal France, Genera Shopping 95Garges Les, France, Buyvip Madrid Achat Vip.com Trappes, France (several times) as well as others. There were also several small charges to VOIP services which were refunded but for a lesser amont, so for example £10.51 charged, refunded a week later £9.20.
They increased my credit limit to £5000 without me asking - I told them to reduce it back down (to try and stop these unauthorised transactions for hundreds of pounds being made) which they did only to put it back up to £5000 a few months later without me asking  Their online service has often refused to let me log in.
Does anyone have a number or contact where someone will actually listen to me!?"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

Thanks, will try that number tommorow.
Just wondered if anyone here who has had Barclaycard fraud problems ever used Cotton Traders clothing website? Apparently their site was hacked about a year ago and card numbers were stolen:

As I (and others in this thread) have only used their cards online there must be a company which has failed to keep our card details secure? Would be good to know who they are so I can avoid them in future!
I also noticed there were widespread problems logging in last year:

I had fraudulent transactions on my Egg card twice after using Cotton Traders' website, once last March and again in November.0

Made me smile:
"A couple from Henlow were stunned to find their pet bird Sumner had racked up an amazing £869.18 bill on a Visa Platinum Barclaycard."

I don't think this problem was down to cotton traders, I haven't used them. It was thought amongst some of us that this was an inside job, as it was all a bit suspicious how it all occured during the Morgan Stanley to Barclaycard switchover...** Mobile Phones.... I'm here to help **0
