    Seriously bad news here.

Just checked with First Direct, nothing in my account - advisor passed me through to the CHAPS area and NOTHING pending either.

They are F*C*ING taking the p!ss now!

The clever get out clause they are using is 'a small number of manual payments have to be processed, and we aren't giving a timescale on this....Well, they could fob ANYBODY off with this.

I have just spoken to a CSR at Kaupthing who has advised that approx 5% of payments weren't done, and need to be done manually. BUT, they cannot give a timescale of when they will be processed or received.

I am going to contact Martin (Press Relations) again this morning to get an updated statement on this. Is anyone going to take up Media leads today or tomorrow?

I think we should see what happens during the day.

    Discuss our strategy this evening.

    Create hell tomorrow.

    5% = 8000 people
If correct, the bigger the number, the better. It means they have to take it seriously. If there were only a handful of people, they wouldn’t be too bothered about resolving their issues.
  • yet again I have been hanging on the phone on a 0845 number for over half an hour now and reading your posts. I was so stupid to believe Alastair Hemmings Customer Relations chap I spoke to Saturday would actually ring me back. I have been cut off twice now and now fear and third cut off or perhaps they will keep me on hold till this evening I am beginning to doubt anyone is going to answer this line. Getting panicky now.

  • A couple of objective Monday morning points:

    1. Who cares if ING are recieving £xxbn of capital? I bet most of the payments we are waiting for are going to UK banks that have also just recieved the same, like Nat West, RBS, HBOS, LLY-TSB. It's not relevant to these missing tranfers.

    2. It is only 8am. Still, I said that on Friday and now look like a fool.

I have e-mailed ING with a scan of my KE statement, simply asking them to confirm that they even recognise that they owe me £35k. That's my first objective as right now I don't even have that as things stand.

    What a shambles.....

Thank you goodethernet for all your postings here and chasing these incompetent bankers. I personally think that ING dont even know of our instructions exist, as I believe our batch of instructions got put aside somewhere.

I got an email from them (unsolicited):
. I assume others who are also waiting did?

    I also received this email.

I requested a large BACS transfer on October 8th which was received into my linked account at HSBC on Friday afternoon (by CHAPS I think).

However, on October 15th I requested a BACS transfer of £5 just to see if the system was still working. I think this is the reason why I got the email from ING as several people on the Motley Fool board who also received this email had tried to make transfers after ING took over.

I am not aware of any transfers requested from Oct 13th onwards being received. Anyone know anything different?
    BACS requested 8/10/08, received 17/10/08

Got a delivery address failure using: fefeike.brouwers@ingdirect.co.uk

    Have requested
the address at which you will accept the serving of proceedings.

    Does that sound butch enough?

    .

Surely not. It's 5% of those who requested withdrawals, not 5% of the entire 160,000 K-E customer base, unless of course everyone is trying to get money out.

So, do you know how many it is then?

    Do you work for ING?

Is it not time to report this to the Police? OK, I'm sounding desperate here - but how much more are we all prepared to listen to?

Is it time to come crashing down on ING? We could agree a Police Station in the City (Or Reading?) and basically report them for financial irregularities?

I'm surprised a few people are saying "lets wait and see" How long has our money been missing exactly now? And people are STILL willing to allow them more time?

Katykay, do you have a link to the MF thread? I was reading one last week and now can't find it.
    Thanks!
