Can't we report them to the FSA / Banking Obudsman?
  • CHAPs transfer from Tuesday 7th is still not in my A&L account this morning. I feel like they've forgotten us.

Ive just checked and nothing in my smile account :-(

I'm also waiting for a transfer to my SMILE account it's my birthday today so I was hoping to see the money this morining - I've given SMILE the CHAPS transfer number and KE account number and asked them to chase it. Will see what they say.
  • I received a bacs (via chaps) paymemt on Friday but a larger chaps payment from the 8th has still not appeared.

Still think my forum name is far fetched?

    Nope. Not any more.
  • Just to restate something I posted on Saturday (sorry if thats not correct protocol on discussion forums) - I had a long 'chat' with a senior manager on Friday evening, who when pushed pretty hard, admitted that he could not guarantee that the money would be in the linked accounts by COB today, despite the statements made on KE / INGs websites. Basically, the statements they are making are just the 'latest' from ING, which can change at any time as the landscapes shifts. KE are then packaging the 'latest' up and delivering them as guarantees to the customers, as we are all painfully aware.

    Here's hoping it happens today.

I feel the same, im still waiting for a CHAPS on the 8th to go into A&L. When I fone up KE or ING nobody will check to see if my transaction number has been processed. The last thing I was told was that if the money is not with me by 'midweek' they will start tracing it.
No more offshore banking for me

Thought some jumpy people who actually are happy might make at least one of you smirk a bit of joy or something that isn't anger...

A CHAPs transfer, as far as I was aware, is a same day transfer. And the European transfers take a maximum of two days... At least that was the case when I used to process them way back in 2006/2007 for Allied Irish Bank.

I'm getting the feeling I need to read a few more pages than the last ten...:rotfl:

There has been a lot of speculation and arguments on the forum, regarding the way CHAPS transfers are processed. Please can you give us a rundown on how it works. Some people are saying there is manual intervention at each end of the process, others are saying only at one end. If the A in CHAPS means automated, why is there manual intervention at all?
