Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

I know I am so lucky - I got my £6.5k this pm. I requested it by Bacs evening of 7/10 and received it by CHAPS 4pm into my linked Natwest account. Natwest were not aware this am that the money was coming through. I haven't closed my account as I only requested half of my funds - not sure if this has made a difference ?
Interestingly the detail part states CHAPS International !
i haven't posted this to upset you - I just thought it might be interesting if you are keeping a record of who has been paid and who hasn't.
I really do hope you all get your money and will be thinking of you and logging in again Monday to see the updates.0 -

Still, fortified as I now am by a few glasses of fine Norwegian aquavit, I'm much more relaxed, and supremely confident ING will cough up on Monday, so we won't need to worry about FSCS.
I certainly hope you are right. I was posting that kind of hopelessly optimistic c**p myself about Friday 17th earlier this week.
You will note that the update on the ING site is now non-specific waffle about clearing the backlog. No more deadline dates. If I had a choice (and hopefully I will soon), I would not trust them with a penny of my money.
That's what's so irritating about speaking to people at ING today. They seem to have completely lost sight of the fact that it's our money we are having to fight for. It's not like we are going into M&S and finding they are repeatedly out of underpants despite assurances of "stock coming soon". It's our money ING!0 -

I'm pleased you got it. I think I read earlier that you were relying on it. I'm lucky enough not to be relying on mine.0 -
This is what I think they are doing:
6th, 7th, 8th = 17th received from bacs
9th 10th 11th = 20th received from bacs
21st Tuesday next week CHAPS Back log from the 8th or lower (after freeze)
22nd Wednessday next week from 9th 10th 11th
or 23rd to 24th extended days for chaps
23rd to 24th checking all acounts
Could be wrong I should be a banker.0 -

I really believed I'd get the money finally in my linked account today as promised, but i'm very disappointed that it hasn't. Yes I'm one of those CHAPS people - I've put in a CHAPS transfer request on the afternoon of Wed Oct 8 and can see nothing in my linked account.
Very happy for everyone who got their money back today, though I am very confused as to why BACS requests arrived today but CHAPS ones - that cost £20 to be faster (!) - didn't. Very strange indeed.
I know I just don't get it, i'm hoping our CHAPS's will arrive on monday. ING are saying everything has been processed. No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:0 -
One declaration was made last week, yes, but that's irrelevant, because in law all liability of FSCS has been extinguished with the transfer to ING. Look at para 15 of this order:
http://www.england-legislation.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2008/uksi_20082674_en_3#pt4-l1g15-l1p1
"an eligible claimant has no right to claim, and the FSCS has no obligation to pay, for a relevant protected deposit any further compensation under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in respect of the default of Kaupthing."
Still, fortified as I now am by a few glasses of fine Norwegian aquavit, I'm much more relaxed, and supremely confident ING will cough up on Monday, so we won't need to worry about FSCS.
You may be right, or wrong. As far as I am concerned, as soon as KE was declared to be in default, we, the injured parties have to get compensation from the FSCS. If liability has been transferred legally, then ING are in default now, and we have to make sure the authorities are made aware that ING is in defaut.

Emailed BBC as requested.
CHAPS 08.10 at 8.30 am - not received into Lloyds TSB.
Assured by ING at 4.30 pm that all payments would be received, my CHAPS charge would be refunded (if only that was my only worry) and that interest would be backdated blah, blah, blah.
Started on the G&T's now - no ICE...0 -

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason how they are doing the BACS and CHAPS payments, perhaps it's a case of eenie, meenie, minee mo?;)0 -

It just looks to me like you made that up. Do you, by any chance, work for ING?:rotfl:0
