  • The Treasury has already stated with regard to UK Kaupthing a/c holders ... "Not a penny will be lost"
  • Just a small update. Just contacted my bank. The one withdrawl I have left form KE, of the two, which has not appeared today, IS NOT visible on the BACS queue for crediting on Monday and therefore won't be; Tuesday would be the next date. That does not of course mean that others won't get outstanding monies on Monday.

So, if there is anyone out there who has not received, is dependant on having the money in on Monday (e.g. the person who posted yesterday to say she had a big DD going out on Monday from her linked account), you should not assume. You need to take other action (e.g. contacting your bank, advising them of the problem and seeing what they can do to cover the situation as you are their customer).

I suppose that I should check it hasn't been credited back to KE; but it hasn't been for the last x days so can't be bothered.
Ealing saver - the BACS payments that came in this pm all seemed to arrive as CHAPS. I know this cos Nationwide only update once a day (early hours) and they told me this morning that I would be getting no BACs through as they were all in for the day. However they told me CHAPS can come in at any time of day and around 3:00pm my two BACS payments arrived as CHAPS, so please don't give up hope for Monday. I hope you and everyone else get their money. I know how i felt last weekend :(
  • I'm pleased you got it. I think I read earlier that you were relying on it. I'm lucky enough not to be relying on mine.

Yes thanks would not have been able to make mortgage payments and other commitments without it. Have not slept since 8th October to be honest.

Hope you get good news on Monday.

I can't take this anymore my whole live saving has gone they've made allsorts of assurances and my £200k+ still hasn't arrived, familys future at stake maybe if i do this it will hilite everybodies plight, and maybe my family will get money after I've gone......

Please don’t get too down. The money hasn’t gone, it’s just delayed. We are all getting very frustrated by the lack of information from ING.

I am 100% certain my money will eventually show up and so will yours. A lot of people got their money back today. Just hang on in there.
  • Ok, I can't take any more tonight. I'm off to bed. I'll email the working lunch people tomorrow.

Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen and we'll be visited by the ING fairy tonight. Won't hold my breath though.

    Night night fellow CHAPS.
    CHAPS 8/10 received Halifax 20/10

I've been thinking about this a little further. It seems that chaps requested paymnets seem to have been unpaid and that maybe ING are unaware that these payments exist.

I've also been told by HSBC that a chaps payment has to be released by a person, ie it passes across someones screen to be authorised to leave the source bank.

So, Given the confusion that must have existed at kapu edge on the 7th/8th, could it be that whoever was releasing those payments decided to or was told to send them somewhere else. I'll also be talking to them about specific transactions next week!!!!
    CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
    CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!
  • Well of minor consequence to what many of you are sufferring but i still have £100 left in KE/ING and I think I want to remove it now...but when and how? Hmmm...
  • Couldn’t it simply be put down to manpower or unforeseen technical issue?
