  • Right my penurious CHAPS friends....I'm off to drown my sorrows in a large volume of red wine...I was hoping that I'd be more productive next week, but looks like I'll be hooked into this Forum yet again. Laters x

Looking back through the posts it looks like any chaps requested transfers after close of business on tuesday have not been received. Anyone had a chaps request after this credited to their account?

If this is correct then I am beginning to worry that a computer file may have been corrupted due to the original problems with the failure of the parent bank or some other reason. Seems strange that bacs requests have been processed ok albeit with a delay.

sorry you didnt get your dosh but trust the system - files dont get lost or corrupted that easy! i know trust me! they will just have been delayed because they couldnt submit all the files in one day. when you get the dosh put it in the co-op!

Slowly or not you will be getting your payment within 1-2 business days.

We, with fixed term deposits are still in the dark:(

I still believe I’ll get my money back. If all else fails I’ll go to the FSCS, who were guaranteeing it when I transferred to KE.

We can only speculate and look for scapegoats. There is clearly a different procedure for CHAPS. The 2 that went through earlier could have just been test runs on the system, they may have actually clicked on BACS, thinking it was CHAPS, then it arrived as CHAPS, so that’s the way they thought it transferred.

If we had seen a trickle of CHAPS it would have given us hope but zilch doesn’t give us anything. It’s hard to advise others to stop worrying, when I am worried myself. I am very lucky I’m not in the middle of a house sale or need to pay any builders. I hope the people waiting to be paid will understand this extraordinary situation.

I have worked in various IT fields and have seen major hold ups caused by minute problems. A spotty programmer somewhere may have forgotten to put a comma in a line of code and is spending day and night trying to find it, who knows?

I think we better make another thread....just in case this one is pulled.........

    Probably still using COBOL.......

Hmmmmm....... (!!!!!!'s that, I hear you ask....)
The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)

No longer confident! All those with deposits remaining could end up having to claim if ING is weak as the rumours have it.
    CHAPS 8th received 20th into HSBC A/C
BACS on the 17th and 20th received 22nd into HSBC A/C
    CHAPS fee refunded 29/10
I can survive any crisis - I have kids!!
