All the transfers that were done today were done by CHAPS.
A lot of people have had the transfers now appear in their banks today.

I feel sorry for those that haven't had their money through yet.
That is really disappointing.
I suspect it's more to do with the individual banks' systems rather than ING not doing them.
Hopefully everyone will have their money on Monday.

Did you hear the one about the Iranian attempt today to beat the Guinness Book's record for the longest sandwich?
Apparently the attempt failed because before the sandwich could be measured a large crowd started eating it.

you still think theres hope? The best hope I have now is that some overnight job at Halifax runs and pulls the money in from a clearing account, so i see it early tomorrow... but i really dont think CHAPS works like this... my worst fear is that on close of play Monday, it is still not there

No money in my account as promised. Barclays can't see it at all say don't bother checking again until Monday. My daughter has also not received anything into her Natwest account. We transferred Tues a.m. 7th by CHAPS. Spoke to ING Customer Relations at 4.00 who told me not to worry money will go in by close business - liars!!!!

Wonder if they have processed by Bank rather than date of transaction, who knows, could have just pulled names out of a hat!

Wasn't Martin going to step in and talk to ING if we did'nt see a result? Great news for all of those that requested BACS transfers - they seem to be moving....but all us poor CHAPS peeps are still blowin' in the wind. Is it time to talk to the banking ombusdman? (bet I spelt that wrong!)

Also, Martin, don't pull this thread...there's a heap of useful contact info and stuff here that many of us may need if things don't go so well for the CHAPS gang!

We thought we were so clever asking for CHAPS transfers and now we're sitting in the queue after the BACSters got theirs by CHAPS. No fair!!

However, basically none of the payments that were received today started off as CHAPS. The point here is that the CHAPS requests have not arrived - regardless of the fact that Bacs requests have arrived as CHAPS.

sorry but chaps wont come through now. I know the banking system and the deadline for chaps is about 4:00 pm and the transfer would be immediate. You will have to wait till monday. sorry.
