Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

Just been on phone to Ing.They are still insisting their latest brief is that all transactions will leave Ing by close of business but tough if your bank doesn't happen to stay open for business 'til 6.00pm.Apparently the transfer will just hang around in the system until your bank (in my case Halifax who closed for business at 5.00pm)opens on Mon morning.Another weekend of waiting and worrying.0

So 18.00 has come and gone without the promised payment arriving. We seem to be getting flamed on this board for having the temerity to complain, so I'm going to retire from the internet for tonight.
But hang in there, fellow waiters (heh). You're not alone - plenty of us have sizeable chunks of cash still in the aether. They'll come through, on Monday, definitely. And I expect ING will have an update on their website tomorrow explaining why not all payments were made.CHAPS to Natwest: sent 9/10, RECEIVED 22/10 at 16.350 -
Interesting point you make. Must admit, I don't really have an issue with ING, other than the fact that I DO AGREE with what you say about the fact that they offer new customers better rates than their exisitng ones, and indeed I am not only an ING saver, but also (yes, I know, sadly) a Formula One fan, and ING advertising is plastered EVEYWHERE there - on cars, posters, drivers tunics and caps, etc etc etc... better they should redirect their (unknown amount) of Guilders / Euros / GBP equivalent / towards giving customers (savers) a better interst rate rather than wasting their profits on F1 sponsorship. (and I've said the same in an e-mail to a senior ING manager (to which I got a kindly but non-commital response!) ))
Also take your point about the foreign nature of the bank - but - unlike Iceland, it is indeed fully within the Euro-zone - and don't mistake the difference between what happened to IceSave with what was "forced upon" KE - caused by quite different things.
But KE were a UK bank, whereas ING are not, KE was fully protected by the FSCS, ING are not, they are covered by the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
Icesave weren't a UK bank, just like ING aren't, although I agree they are in the Eurozone.
Personally I'll not be saving with another non-UK bank, unless I trust them 100%, and that's not going to be for a very long time.
And saving with a non-UK bank that treats savers badly by dropping rates, really isn't ever going to attract me, nor any other canny saversThere are plenty of historic threads on this forum about ING and their poor rates.
Still no CHAPS from 7-10, going home now, dejected and annoyed I trusted INGs statement at the beginning of the week.
Good luck all for Monday.0 -

I'm still waiting.
CHAPS requested 7.30pm 6th Oct and the money disappeared into the ether at 10am on the 7th.
No payment yet into HSBC. Once again, I can't believe it.......after all we were told.
I have a feeling I'll be on this thread again on Monday. I hope that Martin doesn't pull it. It's been my lifeline all this time. It's kept me (nearly) sane when I found myself in a very weird place of great anxiety and confusion.
Don't pull this place Martin.....please.0 -
I'm never going to just close an account in future. I've learned from this that to withdraw all and then close later would have been the best option. God knows when I'm going to get my money!0
