Once an electronic transfer has been initiated you can not stop this, apart from a letter instructing this. Transfers were initiated when KE UK were solvent and the contract you initiated, i.e. the transfer lies with them. Then ING inhereited the retail savings arm of KE UK and have to adhere to what the client origionally requested.
It is worrying but your money is safe, but not seeing those figures in your KE or Bank account send shivers through your body.

Precisely. KE defaulted, and therefore we are entitled to make a claim against the FSA. The FSA in good faith have tried to resolve the problem. It has worked for some, not for us. Our port of call now is with the FSA, assuming we dont get any payment. I dont think we have a claim against ING. I never signed any papers with them. Certainly KE never informed me that thhey were not going to honour my payment request and were transferring my account to to ING. I think we must be resolute about this. FSA should be informed that their rescue has not worked for us and we need compenasating.

  • First Direct too! It definitely won't be credited now until Monday, according to their foreign department, who deals with these things...

    So frustrating!!!!

    SNAP!

Me too -A&L CHAPS 7th morning
  • I don't think it's account specific, still nothing in my IF (ie Halifax) account.

And the garage bill was £480. GRUMP. Oh, it was a CHAPS request, 8/10, 8.30am. And they've already charged £20 for the CHAPS fee (I'd left a little money, £50 or so, in my account so I could still log in).

No you don't have a claim against the FSA.

If you have any claim at all, and I don't think any of us do, yet, it's with the FSCS who provided the protection to 50K for the KE accounts, not the FSA.

Don't think any of us would mind if the money was showing in one account or the other, it's just the fact it's missing is the issue.

    Page 200 woohoo - do I win a prize? Let's celebrate. No CHAPS from 7-10 though :(

    You have won 100 puffins!:T

Actually, my transfer was initiated on Thursday, after the accounts had been transferred to ING, so presumably the contract lies with ING, rather than KE.
