Just wanted to update. The BACS initiated on 7/10/08 has just shown in my Barclays account around 1 AM on 17/10/08. :j

General consensus is:

1 - If you initiated a BACS transfer the money should arrive by BACS today - if so, in most banks it should be at least visible if not cleared

2 - If you initiated a CHAPS transfer the money should arrive by CHAPS today - quite unlikely to have happened yet and won't be visible to anyone until the transaction is complete. Personally I expect CHAPS transactions to start appearing at 14:00 but could be wrong. The volume of CHAPS from KE is not massive in the grand scale of things particulaly in the context of fewer run rate house closures these days - I think once they start we will see a flood of woohoo posts!

3 - If you intiated anything more than once (because the first attempt didn't seem to 'work' at the time) you are unlikely to get anything today as your transaction will need some more manual intervention

I know with A&L,any credits in unless it,s a CHAPS,only shows up at start of business,which is about 3-4am in mane.Debits they will take at any time though,throughout day,before 4pm.
Please keep the faith everyone,my transfer was for £32,000,I did a baccs,but in a blind panic:oinitiated that transfer ahem a few times on the 7th and 8 th as my balance was,nt showing nil.I really thought I had messed up after reading this thread,as technically I had overactioned my KE account by 4 times more than the amount I really had.I know I could,nt help it,I panicked.So anyone who has done that too,it didn,t affect my monies today.

BACS done 7th October. Not in today. Not showing for Monday either.

I know it's difficult and I'm waiting on money too but it is still only 8am in the UK. ING have said payments by close of business today.

Imagine you had made a CHAPS payment 5 minutes ago in the normal course of business from some other regular account. It probably wouldn't be in the target account yet either.

I know it's tough and I'm in the same boat, on the hook for 35k but there are a lot of millisecond electronic transactions that can take place in the next 8 hours!

As for people that can't see their BACS, that is a bit of a worry but they could be coming by CHAPS for some reason or the recieving accounts customer service could just be wrong. Who knows.

Remember, ING have told one of us that there will be 26,000 CHAPS transfers today. That's either pretty specific information or a HUGE lie. I really do believe it's the former.

Just wanted to update,bacs initiated on 7/10/08 before 2pm paid into Nat West current account this morning,payment withdrawal of 2000.00 on Fri 10th Oct by Bacs before 2pm not received,never deducted from my balance.
Hope everybody else gets their payments today,i will keep my fingers crossed,good news I have lost weight with all stress of past week.
