Well I am pleased for those who have got their money - just wish I was one of them.
It doesn't make sense to me that people who did transfers on 8th have their money and people who did them on 7th haven't. I was told yesterday by ING that if I did my tx by BACS (which I did) that is how it go through, so I definitely won't get mine today or Monday.

I made two payments over separate days.

One for the majority of my funds and the second for the remaining £100. Would that mean i'm going to need "manual intervention"?

The transfers are probably being sent in chronological order. Due to the volumes, they could be stacked up on a server somewhere; also, different banks will take different lengths of time to process them. Mine hasn’t arrived. I won’t panic till about 6pm tonight.

Just checked my Abbey linked A/C. Nothing as yet

Chaps initiated 9/10 @ 08.45

My understanding is:

BACS - paid once a day (ie early morning or start of buisiness day)
CHAPS - won't be seen until lunchtime to 14:00'ish, as it will be kicked off manually from ING this morning.

Here's hoping....

ING said that they are doing a bulk CHAPS transfer today. Under the circumstances, normal procedure is out of the window.

My worry factor has gone down 50% thanks to the successful BACS people posting on here.

No I'm not just guessing I phoned the bank and got a complete break down of how the system works so that when I duly launch ING I have an idea of what I'm talking about!

I know that I've got my money ...and it's easy for me to say...but ING have made a very public promise to us all and I think they will have to honour it.
I'm sure that any remaining transfers will all be done by CHAPS regardless of the original payment method and will start dropping into accounts today.
You must all feel pretty rotten ...I'm really sorry ..BUT they have started paying out ..so they're not going to stop ..thanks to everyone that made the last week a bit easier

Well I did transfers on the 7th and the 8th, then I also requested another term account to be closed three days ago, and absolutely nothing has arrived in my account from any of these transactions. On top of that, the term account I thought I closed by phone three days ago still seems to be sitting there and hasn't been closed at all. I haven't been worried up till now, but now I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever see any of my money again!
