Excellent news, I hope we will all be a lot more happier, less stressed by close of business tomorrow.

My Bank (IF) is not a clearing bank and can't tell me if a payment is in the pipeline - but I think that the girl there must moonlight for ING because she said don't worry your money will be safe!

All these false reassurances are a load of rubbish, it’s time for honesty, to regain our confidence.

just rang Lloyds tsb to see if there was any good news pending - sad to say no BACS transfer coming in for me tomorrow (and she said that they would know about it now if there was and for tomorrows credits by bacs there are no further updates today).

I wonder whether the fact that I transferred out of KE by CHAPS on Wed 8 means that they will still do it by CHAPS? The very nice lady at the bank said it was worth checking tomorrow morning to see if there was something due to come in on Monday by BACS or hopefully that it will come in by CHAPS 2morrow and that's why it's not on screen for today...

still fingers crossed - useful to know if those that are getting confirmation of payments arranged the original transfer by BACS or if there's anyone out there who arranged original transfer by CHAPS and has been told by their bank that it's coming in by BACs tomorrow. Hope this makes sense x

They will be saying this because it clears on the close of business. They will be able to tell you tomorrow morning if a BACS is due to be cleared by close of business tomorrow but they couldnt tell you that today. Trust me! I know! They will be playing it cautious in case it is recalled at the last minute.

Thanks EllieWar, I guessed(earlier post( en masse) that is what they were probably going to do , they would have to gather all info on all transfer amounts, sort duplicates out, then make sure their account for transfer was flush, so one press of a button friday morning will hopefully send them all winging our way:D heres hoping system doesnt crash!!!!;)

I have just spoken to my bank (First Direct) and they have no record of any deposit pending from Kaupthing tomorrow.

Have just spoken to Kaupthing who claim that the payments are not being made by CHAPS or BACS but buy a system called FREE CHAPS!!! I'm not panicking just yet but i can't say i've ever heard of this system!
