By the way, I got the first e mail but never received the second so only knew about the Friday thing by reading it here.

Right, I am not going to sit on here all day, much as I would love to.

The sun is shining brightly here in Surrey. I am going to go for a drive in the countryside and get one more use out of my convertible before the rain sets in tomorrow or whenever.

I am becoming too obsessed with all of this and just want to wish you all the best, our money will come and life goes on. There are some lovely autumnal scenes out there to cheer me up until such times as my dosh appears in my bank account.

Have a great day, all this will be forgotten this time next week (well, almost forgotten, a few lessons learned)

I'm going to take your advice and do the same, I'm off to Asda in my Toyota Yaris (No sun roof) and fill up with petrol while it's cheap.

Great ....seems to be moving as planned. Just out of interest, how are you able to get advance notice of a planned CHAPS or BACKS transfer into your account? ...I was so excited at the last few posts I called Abbey but they said they have no idea what I was on about and that I had to wait and see !

I just sent HSBC an online message last night and they answered me this morning telling me that BACS is ready for tomorrow.... I must say HSBC are good like that, will deal with queries in a short time

I'm now looking forward to the weekend, might treat myself to some retail therapy. Hope everyone gets good news.

Next week, I'll chase my Icesave claim ... no rest for the wicked ;)

Except for those of us who ing have said will take longer! Knowing my luck, I have a nasty feeling I could be one of those......even though I did not make 2 transfers!

    Good news

What day and time was your transfer initiated? Presumably you asked for a BACS?

I have just spoken to ING and the advisor said everyone will be getting their money tomorrow and should be in their first thing. However I am with Lloyds and normally updates can be seen about 11pm so may have to wait until then.

Nationwide have told me several times that they cannot see anything before it arrives - I don't get it!

I was told the same with Lloyds
  • I just spoke to my personal banking guy ay Nat West and he told me:

For BACS payments: If something has been set up to credit people's account tomorrow, then the receiving bank should be able to see that payment on the way.

For CHAPS payments: They have zero visibility or advance warning of those, they simply just arrive.

Don't know for certain if this is the case for all banks or even if it's correct but I thought I'd pass it on. He seemed pretty sure of his facts.

I made a CHAPS payment, so if ING stick with that it could arrive anytime between now and tomorrow night.
