Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

I haven't posted here before but I have been watching this thread closely as we also wait for the money to come through.
My husband has just rang ING and spoke to Natasha who assured us the all the transfers will be done in bulk by the close of business on Friday.
So I guess we just have to wait and see.0 -

no they wont. It will be tomorrow morning at the earliest0 -
I just phoned HSBC but no BACS payment in pipeline for me.
My BACS transfer instruction was submitted on the evening of Tuesday 7th October. The person I spoke to at HSBC said that BACS payments do come in throughout the day so I'll call back this afternoon.

I set it up by bacs but didn't check if that was how it was coming in. I assume it's coming in by bacs as it's showing now to be credited Fri am but who knows. The other thing is I set up a small amount of interest to leave KE this tues just gone and it was only yesterday that it disappeared from my KE savings a/c so obviously ING are moving as fast as they can considering all of the money we moved out. Now all I want to know is whether they are going to treat us as new customers so we can get the higher rate for savings. They still haven't been able to tell me that. I'm happy that they'll honour my fixed term interest rates though. Happy days.
As someone said when this thread first started 'believe in the law of attraction' and it works.0 -
Hi all -
Just had an email from HSBC:
I notice from our records that an amount GBP400.00 and GBP23,000.00 is due to credit your Bank Account on 17 October 2008 with description Kaupthing Edge.
I do not remember transferring the 400 GBP - is this componsation for the stress lol
Anyway I'm happier today
Do you usually get an email from HSBC when a payment is coming in? I don't, not ever. Anyway, good luck, it sounds very positive for you.0 -

Trust me - if it is BACS coming in today they will know about it now! That is why it takes 3 days clearing for BACS. The files are submitted in the system 3 days ago so it is automatic and it always shows as coming through at the start of business on the crediting day. If they have told us that we will get our payments on Friday, they will have submitted the files on Wednesday for crediting Friday. That is why they can be so sure. Check up first thing with your bank tomorrow!0 -
Not worth me calling Nationwide - they always tell me they cannot see things coming in before they arrive. I asked again the other day
.
Why is that?
Maybe only banks that also act as clearing banks can get this advance info?0 -
Great ....seems to be moving as planned. Just out of interest, how are you able to get advance notice of a planned CHAPS or BACKS transfer into your account? ...I was so excited at the last few posts I called Abbey but they said they have no idea what I was on about and that I had to wait and see !0
