It's strange how our KE accounts don't show any activity since our oroginal withdrawals - I would have thought that the money would have went back in then come out again on the new withdrawal date (if by BACS)- what do you all think?

Not really sure, all part of the mystery of finance to me. I will be keeping things very simple from now on, that's for sure. Stick with what I know, HSBC are not wonderful but they will be seeing my short term investments from now on. I just wish I could speak to someone on a more personal basis when I ring, it is always a call centre in India or somewhere. Bless them, they do a good job but it is not the same as talking to the local manager.

The sun is shining, just phoned my bank first direct and they are showing a credit of £11000 coming in to my linked account from ING tomorrow morning, friday, so am I the first? I'm leaving the rest with ING for now because as far as I'm concerned they've done a good job so far. I set up the transfer 0730 last tues morning if anyone is interested.
Yes, I believe you are the first. :T :T :T

Well, it doesn't look as if money is reaching designated accounts today and, as ING stated BY Friday, this is not much comfort, especially as people are being told by their banks that no BACS/CHAPS payments are pending.

We can only hope that they fulfill their "promise" and there's a rush of payments tomorrow. Ever feel as if you're wishing your life away ...
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

morning all. good to see everyone still merrily posting away!

just to keep in the gang... didn't get anything this morning, really didn't expect to though.

    onward!

Things are looking up for me. The central heating packed up two days and BG are due any moment. All covered under my agreement so no money to pay.

The mixer tap broke in the kitchen. Got a really good replacement on EBay and got it fitted for under £30.00

Now I am on a roll I have every confidence I will have a very emotional reunion with my £10k tomorrow.

Fingers and toes crossed for everyone.
  • I have been lurking on this thread since it started. I did a BACS tx on 7th October. According to my bank, my linked a/c will NOT be credited tomorrow. They said if it was due in tomorrow via BACS they would be able to see it by now :(

I was one of those who received payment last friday. I had requested it on Monday 6 Oct via BACS. The payment arrived on Friday by CHAPS!
There is no telling what made them pay by CHAPS, but the did. I imagine the place must be in utter confusion, and I think that is probably the hold up. There is every chance tomorrow will bring good news. Until then, try and think positive. Although I received payment last friday, my family members have major amounts tied up both at Kaupthing as well as Icesave.

No... I couldn't wait ..just phoned ING who told me they are being made by BACS transfer, 95% will have their money by tomorrow am ...and the rest by Monday. If no money by Monday you are to phone them -KE on original number - and they will investigate why you have not received your money.
Sorry that's the best that I got , guy seemed confident though that the BACS payments have actually been submitted.

fantastic news - just for info - was that by CHAPS or BACs that you requested the transfer and is it coming in to your a/c by the same method?

    Hi all -

Just had an email from HSBC:

I notice from our records that an amount GBP400.00 and GBP23,000.00 is due to credit your Bank Account on 17 October 2008 with description Kaupthing Edge.

I do not remember transferring the 400 GBP - is this componsation for the stress lol

    Anyway I'm happier today ;)
