  • Just listening to Victoria Derbyshire on Radio 5 at the moment and their financial correspondent just reiterated statement from ING about everyone should receive their missing monies in their linked account by close of play Friday 17th October.

  • I have learnt some painful lessons here;

    (i) Never invest in overseas "internet" only banks...

    But the KE website told us:

    "Your savings are held by our UK subsidiary, Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander.
    Here are a few key facts you might like to know about Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander:
    • Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Limited is a financial services group providing banking, investment management and asset finance services.
    • The history of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander originated in the City of London in 1907 and operating as Singer and Friedlander since 1920."
    That meant we put our savings in a UK bank, surely?


    It did bother me that I had nothing on paper after setting-up my KE account, so I took a screen copy of each transaction (and the latest, my attempted withdrawal on 9/10, is in very hard copy!).
