Hopefully nothing lost, but some valuable lessons learnt.
No reason not invest in an overseas bank, so long as money is guaranteed by UK authorities. Keeping it under the mattress will soon erode its value. I am panicking only because I made the transfer, it went out of my account, and did not get to the destination. If I had not made the transfer, it would be showing in my account, and so long as less than 45K (now increased to 50K), I would be covered by UK guarantee. I am only worried because it is showing up as withdrawn from the account. The lesson I have learnt is, keep the amount to less than the guarantee, dont withdraw if there is a run on the bank. Infact I am considering investing in HBOS Isle of Man!, now that IOM is guaranteeing 50K. See http://www.halifax-international.com/Savings/regular-saver.asp
10% interest on offer, monthly saver, 2000 maximum per month. Well worth it. One has to get inflationbusting deals, else the value goes down. It is the only income on top of state pension I have.....Illegitimi non carborundum

My situation is EXACTLY the same as yours - inititated SUNDAY 5th, but did not come out of account till TUESDAY 7th ...and still no money or further emails0 -
I haven't received the second e-mail, although it only gives the same information as the web site about payments by Friday. It would be nice to get it personally but I supect it has been handled, like the rest of the ING PR, in a fairly shabby way.
All we can do is hang on in there and see what Friday brings (hopefully our completed BACs initiated on the 6th for withdrawal on the 7th October)0 -
No 2nd e-mail here either....but I shan't panic unless the money's not back in my first direct account on Friday....this ain't good for my blood pressure !0
