  • Have used CHAPS to take money out yesterday should of arrived in bank account today - nothing as yet. I imagine KE are overflowing with these requests and this is the reason for the delay. Keep calm wait for the money to transfer then reclaim the £20 charge for the CHAPS.
  • PLease add me to the list formulaonefan (Hamilton to win!), I transferred on Tuesday shortly before 3pm via BACS, obviously left my KE account but not in current account.
    Thanks

    Updated List (22:01):

I'm putting together a list of ppl in this forum

Who did a BACS/CHAPS transfer and money is out of KE and still not showing in Current Account:

Please add me to the list. I submitted a BACS request at aprox 10.00am Tuesday
  • Most are now probably feeling at least a bit calmer and more reassured after this evenings developments. Thanks to all the posters for contributing, it has made all the difference to what would have been an even more lonely and depressing experience. The power of the internet, what did we do before? But we need to keep a watchful eye out until everyone here is satisfied they have received satisfaction. There is the issue of lost interest because of the CHAPS payments arriving late, for some people that may be a considerable amount, but even if it is only a small amount, it should be repaid on principle. Recently I was offerred compensation of £50 from Nationwide for a day's lost interest (it did take a few weeks to resolve though).
  • This might be of interest to those who made CHAPS transfers.

Real-time gross settlement (RTGS) systems such as CHAPS Sterling require large amounts of liquidity to support payment activity. To meet their liquidity needs, RTGS participants borrow from the central bank or rely on incoming payments from other participants.

I am guessing that the large numbers of CHAPS payments enacted over the last few days have been delayed because there wasn't sufficient liquidity in the system to pay them as fast as they should have been paid.

As ING have stated, it's "business as usual" in terms of accessing your KE account; there is no freezing of accounts as there was with Icesave. As others who enacted CHAPS transfers from Icesave right before it was placed into receivership have mentioned, the money DID bounce back into their Icesave accounts; it wasn't somehow "lost" in the system.
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.

Add me to list as well i requested a BACS transfer Tuesday around 10am as well...so far nothing , my money has not even moved from my account , i was told on the phone that its being dealt with by head office so they can add intrest etc
  • I honestly feel that I'm just going to leave it until Friday, maybe even Monday with this (unless some breaking news happens) as I don't think we (well, I,) can do anything about this situation. I think we just need to put the kettle on, let the people at ING do their stuff along with our own banks and let's leave them to it to process all the outstanding CHAPS/BACS.

I sent 30k by CHAPS yesterday a.m. to linked account, money left KE account immediately, not arrived yet. Haven't been able to contact KE engaged constantly. Got through at 9.00 p.m. to ING they have said that any money transferred before 2.00 p.m. today is not their responsibility as they have only taken over today and I needed to talk to KE direct to find out why delay in transfer. Have emailed KE and will try to talk to them on phone tomorrow!!!
  • Hi,
Add me to the list. I moved money on Sunday night after 10pm BACS payment. Not yet showing but I wouldn't expect it to till tomorrow, doesn't it take them 3 days?

Please add me to the list. Transfereed 6k Monday evening via BACS left account Tuesday, still possible may reach account Friday -but who knows. Have left fixed rate money in KE, but wanted current account money so if KE did go down had some capital to work with - perhaps I made a bit of misjudgement.

I left all my fixed terms with KE and set up a BACS transfer about 0730 Tuesday. Decided I needed a 'float' if it all went wrong this week. I wasn't expecting the transfer it to show in my linked account till Fri am at the earliest, Mon latest so wait and see. I haven't noticed anyone on here having had a successful bacs for a reasonable sum come across yet, maybe I've missed it. I'm sure someone will tell me if I have.

    ;)
