Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

Please add me to the list. Transfereed 6k Monday evening via BACS left account Tuesday, still possible may reach account Friday -but who knows. Have left fixed rate money in KE, but wanted current account money so if KE did go down had some capital to work with - perhaps I made a bit of misjudgement.

I made two transfers via CHAPS on Monday evening, one from my account and one from my Mothers account

My transfer arrived Tuesday evening (£23k) but my Mothers transfer (£32k) has still not arrived. I suspect that the higher the value of the transfer the less chance there seems to be of it going through!

I just wrote an email to Working Lunch to try and get this problem highlighted on National TV - we will see what happens

Guys, as I posted on another forum, I wouldn't be too worried.

I am sure our money is either in KE (ING) or the destination bank. There is no "ether" for it to disappear into.

I used to work for BEA (whose software runs the SWIFT and BACS networks) and in the *trillions* of pounds of business processed, not 1 single transaction has ever been "lost"!

If its not showing up in either account then it just means they haven't put the transaction through yet. I am 99.9% confident they will either (a) put the transaction through later (in a day or so) and your money will arrive at the destination bank or (b) reverse out the transfer request and credit your KE account again.

I can't see the money just "disappearing". Hang on in there!

Please add me. I made a BACS withdrawal first thing Monday, the funds have not arrived today(weds) , nor can the receiving bank see anything arriving tomorrow.

CHAPS transfer at 0900am on wed 08 october for 8K.
showed up on screen, with £20 fee and residual balance.( I printed it )
nothing in lloyds linked account now at 2000 hours. Lloyds payment people now closed, lloyds lady says not to worry but to check tomorrow and ring again before 1730 to speak to lloyds payment team.!
I agree we should email them and say we are posting here.

Yep - you can add me to the list - still waiting for large sum requested by Chaps on Tuesday - money disappeared from savings account and hasn't reappeared anywhere!

I am now so panicked. I have a request for a fixed term deposit account to be opened with Kaupthing edge which has yet to be actioned and today panicked, emailed to cancel the fixed term deposit, telephoned and telephoned with no joy whatsoever to cancel the fixed term deposit and finally panicked and transferred the lot (pre 2pm) via Chaps to my linked account minus the £20 fee.

NOTHING has been actioned nothing at all. Nothing???

Will they insist on locking up my money or action the CHAPS?
What do you all think?

Login to your KE a/c right now, there's a reassuring message on the front page

What about my money?

All your savings are safe and are now with ING Direct in the UK and your accounts will continue to operate in the same way as before.

The BACS transfer I set up last night has just come out of my account at KE. Likewise the CHAPS my Dad did has also just come out within the last half hour.

Site is also now branded with ING so looks like things are starting to move ahead.

CHAPS before midday Tuesday. KE shows withdrawal. No show in linked bank account.

In normal times, CHAPS and BACS transfers are surely guaranteed. Those who requested transfers before today Wednesday, were transferring between British registered banks (presumably) with deposits of each held in UK.

CHAPS payments are run by the CHAPS Clearing Company Ltd.
BACS is a not-for-profit, membership based, industry body owned by 15 leading banks and building societies in UK and Europe.
Both schemes are managed by APACS.
