I did CHapps transfer at approx 2 a.m. tuesday morn for the procedes of my house sale and am still waiting for it to arrive at linked account...

I made a CHAPS withdrawal at 2.35pm on Tuesday for £9900 and needless to say no sign of it going into my linked account yet,like all the other posters the cash and the CHAPS fee is out of my KE account.

Add me to the list please. I arranged a CHAPS transfer this morning at about 8:30 before the news broke. The money was shown as having left the account when I checked about 2 hours later. I am now wishing I had left it alone!

Surely there must be a scheme in place to protect money in the process of being between banks, can any body who knows how the system works please enlighten us?

I won't sleep well tonight!!

I've tried to transfer money out of KE via CHAPS twice now, but it is still in KE!
I tried once yesterday (Tuesday at 5pm) and this morning at 11am. There is nothing on the website to indicate the CHAPS won't be processed. very frustrating

I am on formula one's list. I have written to KE as follows:

"EMAIL TO KAUPTHING EDGE 8.10.2008.
I transferred money from my KE internet savings account by CHAPS to my linked account about 4pm yesterday afternoon. I was expecting it to arrive today (8th October 2008) but it has not(it is now 7.30pm). I would like to know where it is i.e. has it been put through the CHAPS system or is it still sitting with a pile of other CHAPS transfers at KE?
There are a number of others like me in a similar position on the MoneySavingExpert website forum, of course we are very worried as our money appears to have left our accounts but has not arrived in our linked accounts. We should have been informed individually by email or at least by a general announcement on your website what is happening to those of us who have made transfers by CHAPS or BACS over the last few days. This email is sent on behalf of the forum not just for myself and I will naturally publish the reply there. If you do not reply promptly I will tell the forum that too."

It might be useful if all of us in this situation emailed KE and then confirm we have done so to this forum. I was thinking of writing to ING as well, so they are aware, the FSCS as well, perhaps they can direct me to the administrators so that we can get some information individually as to what is going on. KE have had our money and ING will have it, surely we are owed information at this stressful time?

I made a BACS transfer yesterday evening, its gone from my KE account but am keeping everything crossed to see the money Friday/Monday!

Ironic in August closed my ING account to go with KE... wonderful

Add me to the list. Very large amount CHAPed yesterday 2PM immediate change in account, but no show in receiving bank. Got through to KE about 5PM just been told to look at the website (which hasn't changed). There is an announcement on the ING site but no mention of transactions in progress.
Trying not to panic.
