Don't know if this has already been linked to - apologies if it has. Doesn't provide all of us with CHAPS transfers in limbo with any specific information, but does seem to suggest business as usual so hopefully we'll all get our transfers eventually

Made a request for a BACS transfer of over 34000 late on Monday. My KE account shows the money went out on Tuesday but there's still no sign of it anywhere. Gulp.

BACS requested Monday evening. Not showing (although this not unreasonable at present).

I think to be honest we shouldn't worry - it is clear from records where you have sent the money to and the vast number of people this is happening to adds security (we are probably talking about several million pounds if not more) - after all the banks at either end will have a vested interest in getting it!!!!

I think it is clear that this is an unprecedented time which is the reason noone is replying with useful moneyre: the "limbo money" - NOONE KNOWS!

The list of people whose money hanging somewhere in virtual world is growing. we have a good chance of getting our money back if we inform each other well. I have a feeling we will all get our money back in less then a week when backlog clears (both BACS and CHAPS). If nothing happens by next wednesday then we all have to panic and get in touch with MSE, FSA, KE, ING, No.10, BBC, ITV, Channel4 etc.

If anyone of you BACS/CHAPS gets cleared and money deposited into your account then please inform this thread so we can all have peace of mind and hope for the best. Lets all hope for the best and keep our fingers crossed.

please add me to the list. I initiated a CHAPS transfer at about 1:30pm Tuesday - still no sign of it in my linked first direct account at 8:30pm tonight.

It appears from reading the thread, that a lot of people started withdrawing around 11am on Tuesday (as I did), and presumably none of us have received anything. Anybody from earlier on Tuesday, or Monday anytime been successful?

Monday at 11am withdrew 34k by chaps from my acct
Monday withdrew at 1.15pm £2000 from wife's acct by chaps.KE acct showing these transactions charging £20 each.
Tues 7th £1980 arrives in our linked current acc.£20 has been charged twice,However to this date and time NO sign of the larger amount at all my Bank say contact KE it is their responsibility,but no joy .It looks like small amounts were ok but large held back for some reason.Receiving the £1980 proves the system is working

A requote of my post early on in this thread. I have had a successfull CHAPS transfer however thinking back I now think I made the transfer a bit earlier than 8:00 am but it was definately Tueday and my money appeared in my linked account that evening. I have written to ING Direct's ChiefExec c/o their email ([EMAIL="info@ingdirect.co.uk"]info@ingdirect.co.uk[/EMAIL])
with a copy of my email to Kaupthing Edge (see my previous post on this thread) and telling them INGDirects reputation is at stake, not just KE's over this issue of CHAPS and BACS payments in limbo and that I will report back to this forum with his reply. If ING Direct's CEO does not provide a quick and effective response, I for one will not be conducting an account with his bank.

I do see from a link in a previous post that INGDirect has announced that it has taken over KE's savings deposits which I had not seen and thanks to the particular poster for that. Apparently we are to continue using our accounts as normal!
