Already on the list!
I CHAPS'd 9k yesterday 8PM ish (originally posted on page 1 or 2 of this thread) and only now has it appeared on my KE account - i'm in debt as I didn't leave the £20 fee there (only left a £1) which I think will cost me £40 for going overdrawn!! Grrr!
Just hope it arrives now - on way to the Halifax - somebody call for a fire for me to jump out of this frying pan into!
Did also create an online Abbey esaver account so will put money straight in there!
Where are people going to put their money - I'm thinking Abbey (Santander) looks safe and the interest rate is reasonable -am no expert though!
What do others think?
PS - the KE homepage now has a ING message on it - sorry if you've already been told that!0 -
Is there anyway to capture this from them formally so that we can take legal action against them in the future. It obvious they are lying and the BACS system can prove that especially as the various linked accounts will be with many different banks. Maybe we should start any conversation with them by telling them we are recording the call for legal reasons and expect them to be truthful with respect to the information they provide during the call.
I've registered a complaint with the financial ombudsman, although they weren't much help as I haven't lost any money.
I can't prove they are lying, I'm sure the bods at the end of the phone believe they have made the payment but who knows what their treasury or accounts department are doing? For all I know, the receiving bank could be blocking the payment as they don't want to do business with them any more.
I really don't know and I don't care - I just want my money. We have a new mortgage this week and the cash was intended to be offsetting it.0 -
This has been a long thread! 147 posts already! Personally I've decided I'm not going to panic and withdraw anything, partly because I can't see that it's going to be any easier to get money out of any other institution.
I guess the ING takeover probably isn't a bad thing.
At the moment, I'm only working part time (because I'm studying and want to get a good honours class) so my salary doesn't cover my rent, and my inheritance is making up the difference. This means that I have to be able to make timely withdrawals to be able to pay my rent on time. So I have a number of forward orders for BACS withdrawals.
What I've noticed about the the posts in this thread, from people who say their linked account hasn't been credited from their BACS withdrawal requests is that either (a) they haven't said whether or not the amount has been debited from their KE account, or (b) if the amount has been debited from their KE account, they haven't said what date it was debited on, or (c) if they have said what date it was debited on their KE account, then that date was less than three days in the past.
In other words, no-one has explicitly said anything to suggest that the BACS "delay" is outside normal BACS processing timescales.
I understand that people are frustrated that CHAPS withdrawals aren't happening as quickly as they would like them to. But personally, I'm not in that much of a hurry to get the money. I certaiinly don't want to see an Icesave-like situation here, however, as I'm concerned, as long as the BACS withdrawals are going through, I'm still a happy bunny - and, despite the 147 posts in this thread, I see no reason to believe that this is no longer happening.
Please forgive me if I've missed one, though; if that's the case, I'd be grateful if you could give the numbers of the relevant posts. Thanks.0 -
My view is the delay is at KE (either intensionally or due to volume) and many of these transactions have not been CHAPS/BACS processed yet. When I spoke to KE they seemed to be indicating that the department that did CHAPs was headoffice!0

Would like to be added to the list please.
Transferred all my savings via CHAPS on Tuesday evening at 7pm - not seen it hit my Barclays current account as of yet. Hiopei'm worrying about nothing.
Will let you all knowif there is any change

I made a CHAPS transfer( and paid the fee ) from my KE account no XXXXX on wednesday 8th october around 0900am. 12 hours later it still hasnt appeared in my linked account.
You might like to know that consumer site money saving expert is monitoring the number of people who are encountering delays.
ING has a good reputation so far , but delays in transferring money out will harm it.
Please can you make sure these transfers happen as soon as possible OR tell us that the money is still in the account and make sure the balance shows it? the limbo element is most worrying as the money appears to have disappeared completely. If the money is still in the accounts, now that ING has taken over, many people might leave it there!

I tried a bacs payment last night for around 15k but despite it giving me conformation it would not reduce the amount in my account (as it normally does) so I tried again. Same thing. I then tried chaps as I started to panic. All said they confirmed but none reducded my 'balance less future withdrawals'. I sent a secure message to tell ke what had happened as I couldn't get through on the phone. Anyway I've just logged in and the 2 bacs transfers are now showing as having left my account (so its now 15k in debt?) no response on the secure message, didn;t even know you could go overdrawn on a savings account so I guess they'll just refuse one of the transfers. However as it seems to have gone on a bacs payment I guess it will be a case of wait as see as to when it will turn up. So you can add me to the list but Im hopeful that as something has changed then things might be starting to move.0

I would not worry about BACS or CHAPS transfers. (I sent a BACS transfer myself, yesterday. Not arrived yet, but then I wouldn't expect it to until Friday or perhaps Monday).
ING says this about KE accounts:
Can I continue to transact on my Kaupthing Edge and/or Heritable Bank account?
Yes – please continue to access your account in the same way using the same contact channels as normal (via phone or web).
LINKI want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.0 -
You can add me to the list.
BACS transfers debited from 3 separate KE accounts on Mon 6th Oct, none of which have arrived in their respective Lloyds current a/cs yet. Across the 3 accounts over £70K is in transit.
I'm hopeful that there is just a massive backlog and it will show up in the next few days.0
