Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer

Hi
Don't think it's by amount order - I made a withdrawal (by BACS) on 6th for £5000 that I got into my account on Friday pm. I did another on 7th (to clear out the account after I got scared - the first was because I needed it) and that also was for £5000. Haven't got that one yet. That was by BACS aswell.
Does this help the theories at all?0 -
With Friday's transfers flowing, I was feeling good about ING, and coming around to the view that I would probably put money back with them, with thanks!
But now with today's apparent inactivity and no communication about state of play, will most likely stay with UK savings accounts if/when monies return (awaiting 2 BACS transfers amounting to £35K initiated Tuesday 7th).
Come on ING ~ get our trust back . . .
Also, was expecting daily updates on Martin's "Are Your Savings Safe" page ~ but nothing since last Thursday at 6pm (says updated 3x daily) ~ his advice and support would be helpful at this uncertain stage . . . .:money: Has he gone to ground ? I trust not . . . .0 -

At the moment I have 6 accounts with one being Heritable but no Icesave. So its easy to say these people are fools to go over the threshold, when even so called analyst and advisors cant help
You say "we" which I assume means you and your partner, in which case you could open "just" 7 joint accounts as you're each protected £50k, so jointly protected £100k. You could I guess even open the accounts with other family members names on as well, put the whole family of 4 on there and you have £200k of protection per accountMy Excel Mortgage Calculator Spreadsheet: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=11571730 -

Yes, I know it is, and I know that you know... I was just reiterating itI want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.0 -
Nothing transferred yet. Transferred online last Monday evening and it showed up as out of my account Tuesday morning. Was pleased that people were getting their money on Friday and I was pretty sure it would be in my HSBC today. No sign of it. Just phoned HSBC and no sign of it in the pipeline either. This is so frustrating. I had been considering using ING direct for some future savings but no, they have blown their chances by not keeping us informed. When I get it back it will stay in HSBC.0

Lets face it folks - We have been fu*ked over, and with no UK government guarantee.
There can be no excuse for ING not to transfer money today, or ... in the absence of doing so issue a meaningful statement as to why not, followed by when exactly we can expect to get our money.0 -

Thanks locoblade, with the property market as it is, probably just stick it under the mattress, cos there was nobody out there that could give us any advise worth listening to

So glad (in a sad way) to see I'm not the only one who still hasn't seen hide nor hair of their money.
BACS for about 3.5k on the 7th, CHAPS for about 20K on the 8th. I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to who gets what when - it's probably like a giant hourglass and how quickly you fall through is pretty random.0 -
But people may have received money, just not us on this forum, there must be many thousands a people waiting for money from KE, and only a few hundred are on this site.
Disappointed not to see my CHAPS transfer appear though, but I'm not going to start getting worried unless it doesn't appear by Friday.
That's a really good point. There are afew hundred people looking for payments on this site. I would guess there may be 10s of thousands of KE customers who tried to take money out 5/6/7/8 October. Those that HAVE had payments are far less likely to be searching for forums like this looking for information.
Look, ING taking on these deposits has been publicly announced and much publicised by the UK government. It's inconceiveable that people won't get their money back, it's just a question of time. I'm waiting on 35k since 7/10 and just trying to be patient despite intermittent frustration. I think those that have 100k+ should be pretty grateful that it's coming back at all, never mind complaining about lost interest. The 50k limit was widely publicised and there for a reason.0 -
Not got my BACS from monday yet.
Phoned ING who told me they're prioritising CHAPS payments over BACS becasue people have paid for their transfers. Also said they can't advise how long it will take but likely to be days rather than weeks!!!
I was transferring my savings (via a linked account) to ING believe it or not, wish I hadn't bothered now!0
