With Friday's transfers flowing, I was feeling good about ING, and coming around to the view that I would probably put money back with them, with thanks!
But now with today's apparent inactivity and no communication about state of play, will most likely stay with UK savings accounts if/when monies return (awaiting 2 BACS transfers amounting to £35K initiated Tuesday 7th).
Come on ING ~ get our trust back . . .

Just finished my call with Rachel, one of ING Direct's supervisors.

What did I find out? Diddly Squat!

They won't answer the question about why they haven't done transfers today, although they claim that they have done them.

Wouldn't answer how many they'd done if they had actually done them.

Wouldn't let me speak to someone else.

Kept chanting the same mantra about there being a backlog. I indicated that I was well aware of that so why weren't they dealing with it? No answer.

I pointed out that we had arranged TV coverage last week, and we could do it again, and it wouldn't look very good for ING.

Basically, didn't get anywhere, but I did point out that I wouldn't trust them with my funds once I got them.

Mine will certainly be going elsewhere.

But people may have received money, just not us on this forum, there must be many thousands a people waiting for money from KE, and only a few hundred are on this site.

Disappointed not to see my CHAPS transfer appear though, but I'm not going to start getting worried unless it doesn't appear by Friday.

That's a good point. I bet there are 10s of thousands of people looking for payments and those that HAVE been paid ar far less likely to look for information on these kind of forums.

  • I think those that have 100k+ should be pretty grateful that it's coming back at all, never mind complaining about lost interest

I'm not even thinking about the interest

I seem to recall that often a BACS transfer will not show up on my account until after close of business.

As for talk here of "there can be no excuse" and so forth, may I remind everyone that we've seen unprecedented upheaval in the global banking system in the last week and that KE savings have been transferred lock, stock n' barrel to a different company in Holland that now presumably is frantically dealing with a hundred thousand or so new accounts from a bank that was operating in the UK but is connected with a bank in Iceland, which has become a financial basketcase and has probably left the phone off the hook. For crying out loud, I'm impressed that anything is going through!

  • Good for you. I'm not worried about interest either but some people are complaining about it.

Luke! You've morphed from 'rate tart' (as some posters have labelled us) to media tart!! Just joking.

Sorry to hear you tuesday and wednesday withdrawers have yet to receive your money. It's an absolute scandal. Although I was one of the lucky ones who received their money last friday I am still very attached to this post and would like to hear that everyone is satisfied.

There also doesn't seem to be much of a thread on Icesave news. If anyone knows of one could you let me know.

    Thanks.
  • Well when ING dropped my bonus rate from 6.5% to 4.75% at the start of this month I opened up a KE account.......only got just over £100 in it but if I know ING they will soon cut the KE rate to fall in line with theirs.

I can log in to KE no problem but will try and move some small amounts around to see if it is actually working:confused:

    Oh well....AA fixed 1 yr bond here I come:j

    Elmer:cool:
  • Has everyone here completely closed their accounts? I thought I was being 'prudent' (i.e. not panicking) by leaving my term deposit and a few hundred in my instant access account. I'm only wanting £14000 back, which seems a miniscule amount if other posts are anything to go by.

And yes, I am one of Gordon Brown's 'prudent' fellow countrymen (woman). It's the way we were brought up!
    CHAPS 8/10 received Halifax 20/10
    BACS 18/11 (£30) (actioned 19/11) received CHAPS Halifax 21/11
    BACS 24/11 (£50) (actioned 25/11) received Halifax 28/11

    Stercus accidit:cool:
  • Has anyone received a CHAPS payment actioned since Monday? I know that BACS have gone through but cant remember specifically anyone saying they had received a CHAPS?
