no one knows for sure if we've lost interest yet... perhaps if we had left the money in KE we might still get interest from ING?0

Back in my nominated bank account......sorry....I only opened the flippin' KE account and transferred money INTO KE on the Thursday before Iceland melted! I had to wait until 6th for it to arrive in the KE account, then promptly tried to take it back out again!!! What a waste of time!!!

Boo Hoo - me neither...
So far after trying to do the right thing and "spread my money around" I have managed to move 1/3 to KE the week before it went under (bad move - money now lost in the ether), open an Irish Bank account for another 1/3 (which I'm now afraid to use despite Irish Govt guarantee cos they might behave the same as Iceland) and transfer the final 1/3 to Capital One (which in my haste I left out the full account number and so this is also temporarily lost in the ether.)
I was quite happy with it all in one account before all that. Sigh!
Squibbler, don't take this the wrong way, but that did make me laugh !
Have they not sorted your capital one problem yet? that ought to be pretty quick if you get one or other of the banks on the phone. Chances are it will end up in holding account at Captial one I believe.
I was actually thinking a thread up on along the lines of:
Spreading you're savnings around - it may be sensible but is it good for your mental health.
At least if you have it all in one place you either go to bed in peace or in pieces. At the moment if you have it in several places you are on permanent edge.0 -

Exactly the same here!0 -
No offense taken..you have to laugh else you drive yourself nuts!
I'm still trying to get through to Nwide BACS department on the phone. For some reason they are quite busy...can't think why? Cap One also busy - need to keep trying (sigh)
Most of mine is in one place ...the ether!
Yes, Yes, start that thread.... very sensible!!!0 -
When I spoke to ING Direct on Saturday morning, the contact told me that they did not have access to my KE account (I posted that comment here). In my emails today I have some 'KE Savings News' from savings@ingdirect.co.uk. That tells me that ING does now have access to my KE account (that's where they obtained my email address). Chuffed about that: now, they can complete my money withdrawal dated 9 October!0

I had my new account for all of 1.5 weeks before trying to get money back last Wednesday. Made about 16p interest in total. Better than nothing I suppose...!!0 -
