Kaupthing Edge CHAPS Transfer
Comments

I was feeling much more confident on Friday when people were getting their payments through, was a bit dissapointed that they didn't continue over the weekend and am getting increasingly worried that NOBODY seems to have received any money today. Please, if you have received your money today, let us know. If nobody has received money since Friday, that is surely rather concering.0

Likewise... still waiting, would like to know someone has received money today.0

Seems like some of those have been paid today. (well, one at any rate)
As for us Tuesday people, a post by robborollover states :-
'Hi fools i rang ing at 8.30 this morning as i like alot of you transferred last tues at 8.30am.
I was informed that all those that made a transfer last tuesday will be in your linked bank account this wed, hope this helps !!'
Well, it certainly helps me!0 -
I called Ing this morning to see if they could say when my am 7th BACS withdrawal would arrive back into my bank account.
They said "Sometime this week....hopefully"........
So I'm afraid that means........wait and see....which is no help whatsover!

sorry to be pedantic but when you say "back" into your account. Do you mean into your linked account or your KE account?
Thanks0 -
With reference to an earlier post re fraud at kaupthing......i think we should lodge a complaint immediately with the police. this is because, unless i am mistaken, kaupthing edge did not go bust. its deposits were taken over. any one of us who made a bacs os chaps, makes no difference, should have had our money. it is past reasonable time when it should have been received. i conclude there is a problem and it could well be fraud. how do we progress along this line?....Illegitimi non carborundum

I haven't seen any money coming in yet and I did my payment last Sunday (5th) though it didn't go out my account till the 7th.
When I phoned ING & KE this morning I pointed out that if they could just tell people where they were in the process it would be more reassuring than 'your money's safe with us blah blah' ... I mean the people who are actually clearing the backlog MUST know where they are datewise etc ...I 'm still hoping they worked over the weekend and have put it all through Sunday night ...then we may see our money from Wednesday on...but I think that their communication is very poor..I feel sorry for the people answering the phone - the managers are the ones to answer for the lack of information
Maybe we should all email the CEO as suggested0 -

Anyway, I'm not sure we'll have a claim against ING for interest or other losses. They only bought Kaupthing's deposits, and not its business generally. The loss here arises because KSF did not follow our instructions to transfer money through the CHAPS system, but took the money out of our accounts. That is probably a claim for breach of contract / negligence (generally) and / or breach of banking regulations (specific). But both of these would lie against KSF, which is insolvent, and not ING. Are there any lawyers here who can proffer a more informed opinion?CHAPS to Natwest: sent 9/10, RECEIVED 22/10 at 16.350 -
I've lost several hundred pounds as a result of exchange rate fluctuations since the date I made the CHAPS transfer. That's still a tiny amount compared with the total amount at stake, and I'm very happy to let it go by the board if I get my money back.

Back in my nominated bank account......sorry....I only opened the flippin' KE account and transferred money INTO KE on the Thursday before Iceland melted! I had to wait until 6th for it to arrive in the KE account, then promptly tried to take it back out again!!! What a waste of time!!!
