If I remember correctly love, you had a huge amount of savings with KE.

£600 - forget about it until the dust settles.

Whilst I agree with you on this, I think your username is a bit OTT.

If you blew it up, the ice would melt, causing a further increase in sea levels... you'd wipe out East Anglia!!!
  • Theworrier, I am losing @£60 a day, Ok my stupidity in the first place and this has been a kick up the @rse for me. I am very happy just to get my money back and whoever can keep the interest with my blessing!
  • Hey Luke, are you waiting until you get your money back till you shave?! I have an idea - you could wait until the ICESAVE compensation to shave it then you have time to dye it white and earn some extra cash as santa this year ha ha!!!

I have lost £600 so far in lost interest, I don't intend to give anyone that sort of money without a fight - WOULD YOU?????????????
my mental arithmetic not great but does that mean your deposit is £1/2 MILLION. you lucky you didn't loose a hell of a lot more...

If you have "lost" £600 so far, that means £100 per day interest, which means you had £560,000 in KE.

I personally would NEVER put £560,000 into ANY ONE financial institution, unless I was so filthy rich I had run out of places to stash my cash!

I would say you should count your blessings that KE accounts were transferred to ING, meaning the full amount of your savings is protected. If they'd gone bankrupt and the government had decided to cap the protection at £50,000, you'd be a damn site "poorer" than £600!!
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.
  • If anyone has receive either a CHAPS or BACS transfer today would they please post and tell us. I have looked back on previous posts and could not trace any at all coming in today yet, whereas last Friday the payments had started arriving by now. Perhaps I didn't look at previous posts properly. I am quite happy to be corrected.

Unfortunately the idiot called blowupiceland seems to feel a need to flex his bigoted left wing muscles.
  • Having started reading this thread on Friday I am now confident that I have read the whole thing. However, my mind is a bit scrambled and, although I have seen the question many times, I don't think an answer has been given to the following (my apologies if I am wrong).

    1. Has anyone actually experienced money returning (or being "bounced back") to their KE account?

I ask because, as has been pointed out, the MSE main site reports that payments are being refunded to KE accounts yet I have not seen anyone confirm this.

    Also,

    2. Has anyone had money (CHAPS or BACS) returned today? If not, do posters think that this simply due to banking practice (for instance no payments processed before 2pm)

I have two payments pendng, both made by BACS. The first requested on 6/10 at 2pm but stated on KE as 7/10. The second made on 8/10. No sign of either. Not at all bothered about interest, just want my savings!

I am being patient and appreciate the need for positivity but I would like to establish a pattern for which payments are being processed and in which order. Particuarly, now that the possibility of "bounce back" has reared its depressingly icesave-esqe head!

In relation to the on-going disagreements between posters on the "right" or otherwise to interest, at the risk of sounding like a primary school teacher, if you do not agree that someone should be concered with the interest simply don't reply to those peoples posts. What is the point in posting simply to chastise them?

This forum appears to have been tremendously helpful to a lot of people and I, for one, am grateful.

Good luck to everyone else (including the interest seekers!)

they are tricky times indeed - just be thankful we're not all stuck in a room together :p

Yes, could you imagine us in the Big Brother house? Could get ugly...
